Rise Against Music Video Supports The It Gets Better Project

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayMusic MinuteInspiration

This video is so heart breaking, but we're so glad that Rise Against dedicated their newest music video to tackling the issue of LGBT bullying and suicides in high schools across the nation.

The band reached out to Dan Savage, the founder of the It Gets Better Project, to produce this AMAZING music video for their latest single, Make It Stop (September’s Children), from their sixth album, Endgame.

The video follows three teens who are bullied in school for their sexuality and almost driven to the point of suicide as a result, but infuses actual clips from people who have voiced their support on YouTube for the It Gets Better Project and the LGBT community.

Watch the video that brings tears to our eyes above and spread the band's message to others! It's getting better and it will continue to get better until one day sexual orientation is no longer an issue.

Did U like the newest Rise Against music video?

Re: NookiesWA – It isn't about "being special" it is about "being treated as equals"

Re: NookiesWA – Again, the amount of hate and ignorance displayed in some comments astounds me….First of all, men are one segment of gays…women exist too….so, your "ass" comment just hightlights your dim mental state. Equal rights is all gays want….not special…..don't be so judgemental and open your eyes and heart….being so hate-filled must suck for you.

I approve of this video. :)

Its sad individuals like NookiesWa that use the internet as their liquid courage. Its people like that that make you think "they should have been a blowjob". Waste of life.

Re: NookiesWA – what an ignorant comment. and the kids who bully other kids don't have issues b/c they're aggressive, violent and angry? right.

Re: NookiesWA – that's an extremely offensive and ignorant response. a lot of children do get bullied, but if you turned the news on you would see that the bullying against the lgbt community is huge. it doesn't end in high school but continues on throughout a lot of these peoples lives. another point, just because you're bullied does not mean you're a weak individual. people HATE for no reason, people HATE what is different. you are no exception.

in a way I guess everyone is treated as equal this is a a human issue not a LGBT issue.. MOST kids will go through bullying if not all. Weather it's "queer" "fatass" " "slut" "teacher's pet" "loser"… it's sad but it is life. And no it doesn't stop for ANYONE after high school. Bullying against the lgbt community on the news is big and it's sad that bullying in general should be more in the spot light it's so sad the things kids have to go through. We just hope these kids have good parents that can help them through these tough times and make them into people who don't let other peoples opinion of them destroy them as much as possible. Not that I agree with NookiesWA but it's kinda funny how all of you are getting on them for being judgmental when you are of her (?)

Good video! It breaks my heart to see anyone picked on for any reason. It speaks volumes about the bully's insecurities though, and that is an issue that needs to be addressed. Parents, teachers etc. need to ask the bullies why they do it? What does it do for them? Does it really make them feel better when they pick on someone else? What flaw/failure are they trying to cover up?

I have always been a huge Rise Against fan and supporter. I am so happy that their video for this song lived up to what these lyrics offered. I am proud to be a fan! If this video changes even one life, it's worth it. P.S. Buy their albums!

Incredibly moving. I'm so proud of Rise Against for creating yet another awesome song and for being a band with a cause that isn't afraid to make social commentary.

Rise Against is an amazing punk rock band from Chicago, I've been a fan of them for years now, and I knew the song Make It Stop was written in response to so many teens killing themselves over bullying (specifically gay bullying) and it makes me so proud of this band to see the music video for the song continuing the story they set to tell with this song. LOVE RISE AGAINST!!!!!!!!!

so you only mention Rise Against videos when it involves the LGBT? They are an amazing band! I think this issue should be addressed no only to the LFBT but to everyone who is bullied… we want to treat everyone as equals then don't forget everyone else who is bullied! but all in all, this video is very moving

  14. 14

It will always be an issue. Get over it!

Great video. For the ignorant people leaving stupid comments: the reason why this band and perez are focusing on suicide amongst bullied LGBT's is because it's and epidemic in that community. There's nothing wrong with looking for equal rights.

This a wonderful (though sad) video with a very important message. I'm really glad they decided to do this

Loved the Video, brought a tear to my eye……But it is a lil one-sided with the kids being gay, EVERYBODY gets bullied for one reason or another, i guess what doesn't kill ya, makes ya stronger, or meaner! Looks like they are trying to make us feel sorry for gay people….which i guess kinda works in this video. I still liked the song and the video tho.
