Adele Is #1 On Billboard Hot 100, Katy Perry Reaches Top 5!

| Filed under: Music MinuteKaty PerryAdeleBusiness BlitzPitbull

adele and katy perry top billboard hot 100

It's going to be really weird one day when/if Adele isn't constantly dominating the Billboard charts!

Last week, we weren't surprised at all to learn that her second album 21 had returned to #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for her tenth non-consecutive week!

Now, she's having EVEN MORE success on the Billboard charts with Rolling in the Deep, which is #1 on the Hot 100 chart for its seventh week! Wowsa!

We're also pleased to announce that Katy Perry's Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) has made its way into the Hot 100's top 5! Congrats Katy!

Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) is also doing VERY well in the Digital Songs chart! It's hit the #1 spot, replacing Adele's Rolling in the Deep, which fell back to #5.

We'd also like to give a shout out to Pitbull for his track Give Me Everything, which is holding the #2 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Which chart topping artists have U been listening to lately? Adele? Katy Perry? Pitbull?

Adele is #1 for her 10th NON-consecutive week. Is English your first language?

is the edge of glory #1 on anything? LOL…. didnt think so :)

I read an executive for her label reduced her to tears because he told her she needed to lose weight and that is the reason why she postoned in US, not because of laryngitis. I hope that's not true. Adele we LOVE you in the US! You are BEAUTIFUL the way you are!

"…we weren't surprised at all to learn that her second album 21 had returned to #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a tenth consecutive week!"???

if the album wasn't #1 for a week or so and it had to make a return to that spot, it's no longer "consecutive" dubass.

here's an idea, take your tongue out of gaga's ass long enough to make proper posts.

I don't like Katy Perry. I agree with that dude from the Human League. I picked up Adele's album last month because everyone else did. I only listened to it once. I can't really say I like her either. Today I bought Jessie J's album. Wow!!!! She's a hundred times better than either Katy or Adele. I love the way Jessie dresses. It's fucking awesome!!!! Amy Winehouse should just stay gone cuz no one's gonna miss her now. The music industry doesn't need her anymore.

I like Adele but after this album I doubt we'll hear much from her. She's an amazing singer and extremely talented and I give her props for all her success. But she's not interesting enough to be around for a long time, people will get bored of her sadly. Don't even try to argue this because it's obvious that this is what will happen.

Woops, someone needs to look up the definition of consecutive in the Dictionary I think :-/

i hope pitbull make it no.1 next, love his new song, Katy doesn't deserve a number with this crap and congratz to Adele, i hope she continous to have big success in the future

    Re: ladyloowho11

That makes me sad…I love her too much for her to go away like that..

Re: ladyloowho11 – bullshit, talent will always survive the music industry's fickle tastes and its those who rely on tricks , awful clothing (or none at all), or subdermal implants that will not be heard from in the long run. Don't try to argue, its a fact

Katie is going for some sort of record! sweet jesus! isn't this like her 5th consecutive single from the same album to hit top 5? impressive.
Adele sounds amazing but some people are right she's going to need to be more present if she wants to stick around and own her title.

    Re: ladyloowho11
Don't try to argue? As if you just made the end-all argument? One word, dude/she/it: Sade! She's been around for 25 years, comes out with a record anytime she feels like it, makes music with no gimmicks, doesn't try to coast on trends, and people still find her interesting.

Re: neilnriley – Talent will always survive? No it wont, talent is the least important factor these days, sadly. There are so many talented people that nobody cares about anymore. Perfect example, Susan Boyle. Don't get all defensive, I like Adel too, but i'm not delusional enough to think she'll survive the test of time, especially with the way the music industry is going. I'm sure she'll have other albums, but I highly highly doubt they will be anywhere as successful as this one is. But hey, time will tell.

Re: **KC** – Agreed and she's just as beautiful and talented now as when she started. TALENT!!!!

Why is she scratching her hair? Does she need to wash it?

  17. 17

She's awesome. I wonder if she will be watching the sneak peek of Extreme Chef?? Probably. Its this Sunday, June 26 on the Food Network at 10:30/9:30c. Check it out!!!
