Wow. We can't even imagine what is going through his head right now. So many emotions. We feel just awful!

Glen Campbell is an award-winning country pop singer, but his next tour is poised to be his last. This morning, he and his wife Kim announced that Glen has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Glen decided he wanted his fans to be aware of his condition before he went on tour this fall. He said:

"I still love making music. And I still love performing for my fans. I'd like to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin."

So sad. We hope his fans make his last performances worth every minute! He's given them so much with his music! Time to give a little back!

You can not definitely diagnose someone with Alzheimers unless you open up their head and observe the neurons and brain tangles. There are several different forms of dementia such as frontal lobal and vascular that can be accountable. Alzhieimers seems to have been put in a vacuum as the only explanation for dementia. In fact, there are several. Frontal lobal, vasuclar, Parkinson's, and the ever present, alcoholic dementia.

Couldn't have happened to a bigger dick! Ha Ha.

Well Gen, look on the bright side, you get to meet new people every day!

Its sad but as soon as his disease causes him to do something odd you will be poking fun at him. Gary Busey ring a bell hypocrite FatBoy.

So very sorry to hear he is having serious health issues. Hope the doctors are wrong and he is okay. He should apologize to Tanya Tucker for all the nasty things he said about her in the past.

Re: Genghis Khan – Exactly right. A loved one of mine had been diagnosed with it, but went on to have 18 quality years with incrementally increasing help from me.

Does Perez say anyplace how old he is, or that he's suffered from short term memory loss for years? Those things might be interesting to most readers…..

I'm sorry to hear he's sick, but I hope, while he still knows what's going on, he will take the time to apologize to TANYA TUCKER, for all the lies he wrote in his book about her and for all the times he's blamed her for him, being a drug addict and drunk. Tanya has always taken responsible for her actions and that's more than he has or ever will do.

Re: jeanmarie – He is 75 years old .

So sorry to hear this, he is a great musician and entertainer. And 75 is not so old these days, lost my husband two years ago at only 74, his entire family was long lived (some up to 100+ years) but it was just not to be for my loved one.

@v@ - so sorry to hear about your loved one. Have never gone through this myself but it must be devastating!

Lastly, sorry Perez but I will not click to read the "rest of the story" when I can read the entire story on other web sites. Hope you lose this feature as it is annoying to many of your readers. Signed, longtime lurker, recent poster.

In any form Dementia is a terrible thing, for the people around the one suffering it can be heatbreaking, even with the funny moments. I hope its not Alzhieimers Genghis Khan its a terrible way to watch one you love and care about die and I would take a guess and say the Doctors know a little more than you do.

Re: teeter totter – Thanks so much. I was just happy my older relative got those 18 years as opposed to the alternative. The last one or two, it was iffy.
