Yes! Prequel Planned For Wet Hot American Summer!

| Filed under: Film FlickersAmy PoehlerPaul RuddBradley Cooper

HOLY SHIZ! This NEEDS to happen!

It's pretty much common knowledge that the 2001 cult classic, Wet Hot American Summer, is pretty much the best movie in existence, and we're thrilled to reveal that co-writer and director, David Wain, is planning a PREQUEL film with all the same actors - which includes Michael Showalter, Michael Ian Black, Paul Rudd, Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, Christopher Meloni, Molly Shannon, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper and Elizabeth Banks - even though they're all ten years older!

Wain explains:

"Yes, we have been talking about a sequel, prequel, something or other. The prequel would be the same summer so they would be 20 years old for the part yeah, but not younger. So it would be 40 year olds playing 16 year olds. And yeah, we’re in the early stages of thinking about that."

AH-MAZING! LOVE the concept!

We can't even THINK about this without freaking out with excitement!

THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN - and everyone has to come back!

If everything falls into place in just the right way, this could be effing epic!

Please please please please!

C'mon, guys! Get on board!

What do U think? Do U want to see a prequel to Wet Hot American Summer??

I saw Wet Hot American Summer a few weeks ago on Netflix, and although I didn't think it was bad, I didn't think it's as good as people make it out to be. Maybe I'll find this prequel more enjoyable.
