With him involved, we are expecting GREATNESS!
Aaron Sorkin has been tapped to write and produce an HBO mini-series about the infamous Chateau Marmont, based on the the book Life at the Marmont by its former co-owners, Raymond R. Sarlot and Fred Basten!
The series will reportedly follow interconnected stories of the people who inhabited and spent time at the Hollywood landmark since it was built in the 1920s, and will span the course of several generations throughout eight hours.
Its current owners Andre Balazs and his daughter Alessandra will also executive produce, alongside The Office star John Krasinski, who apparently came up with the idea for the project, and will also have a role!
"I almost feel it's my extended living room. I was staring at the hotel and wondered if there had ever been a project about it, about the history of the Chateau Marmont in some fashion. [I wanted to tell] the definitive history of Hollywood, [and] the idea to tell the history of Hollywood using the Chateau Marmont as the epicenter. I don’t think there is a better writer than Aaron Sorkin. The fact that he would do this project with me, is one of the highest compliments of my career. My dream is to have a whole slew of great actors — some very famous and some not famous at all, to make it an homage to Hollywood."
Such an ambitious project, considering everything that's gone down there over the years!
But as we said, if anyone can pull it off, it's Sorkin!
And his involvement will DEFINITELY garantuee some serious A-list talent signing on, which means we think we have some serious Emmy-bait on our hands here!
So, SO cool! We can't wait to hear how this develops!
What do U think?? U interested in this project??
