Family And Friends Pay Tribute To Ryan Dunn At Memorial

| Filed under: Bam MargeraJohnny KnoxvilleSad Sad

Ryan Dunn Memorial

Yesterday, family and friends of Ryan Dunn went to his memorial service to pay their respects. It had to have been the hardest day since the accident.

Among those grieving were Bam and his wife, Glenn Howerton and Rob McElhenney from Always Sunny, and Johnny Knoxville, who spoke.

Also, yesterday the police said that no charges were going to be filed against the bar that served Dunn, as video surveillance and eye-witness accounts told that Dunn showed no signs of being over the limit.

We hope that everyone is doing okay, and that they know that with each day, it'll get a little better and better.

We are so sorry for your loss.

Nah, I have other funerals of dangerous, thoughtless, careless, selfish, egomaniacle drunk drivers to go to that day. So much scum, so little time.

  2. 2

You all may be "so sorry" for their loss, I'm just happy he didn't kill anyone else besides his passenger. How about instead of hoping everyone is well etc. maybe you can try & use your blog Perez to really hammer home the point that drunk driving KILLS. Stop making your posts so sympathetic & just give the hard truth that this guy was an idiot who drank to much and drove like an asshole.

Why is this guy getting so much attention. My loved friends, who drink wayyyyyyyyy to much and party TO MUCH, dont get in cars. I do have a good friend who waited at a bar for a friend to drive him home because he was to drunk, both dead drunk driver. Selfish.

It never gets better. I lost my little sister last year suddently and I had people telling me all the time that time will heal the pain and it will get better with time. It won't, it never will, she is gone and will always be. I new right away that nothing can make this situation better, NOTHING. You just learn to deal with it as time goes on.

The only "sad" part about this is the death of his passenger. I'm VERY HAPPY that this idiot removed himself from the gene pool. What a waste of a human life…he should have offed himself sooner.

Ultimately I have to say that though there is a lot of drunk driver bashing and not saying that there shouldn't be, but this guy was someone's son, someone's brother, someone's boyfriend. I feel sorry for the people that are left behind and hurting and I feel sorry for the 2 lives that were cut short because of the dumb decision to drive drunk.

lol. Look at the sloppy pig pothead.

I agree "Queen Bee"…Ryan is someone's brother, someone's son, someone's friend, someone's boyfriend and it's sickening reading some of these comments. I don't understand how people can be so harsh. He made a mistake and unfortunately it cost him his life and the life of a friend. I really do feel for Zachary Hartwell's family and friends but I also think it is safe to say that I'm sure he knew Dunn was drunk considering he was drinking with him, he also could have told Dunn "Hey man let's take a cab". I just don't think that people should be on here saying the harsh things that they are saying. I've read about the crash on a few sites and I see people who's on there all day just posting harsh comments. Yes Ryan made a mistake but all I can say is loved by many and he fucking lived his life to the fullest and that is more than what I can say for some of you who instead of living life you sit on a fucking computer for 4, 5, or 6 hours just posting rude ass comments. Get a fucking life and stop judging someone else's.

Re: Jumperchu – With a nose like that can you really say ANYTHING about anyone's appearance?
To the others, it must make you feel real tough to bash someone who died. Someone who makes a poor decision (I'm sure every judgemental asshole here has made at least a few) doesn't mean someone deserved to die.

Re: Dayna_Jane – Couldn't have said it better myself! Kudos! :)

  12. 12

at least he didn't feel any pain being plastered (nice pun) and 140mph impact, jackass is right.

  13. 13

WHY ALL THE ATTENTION MARIO????? You, Mario, rip apart people who DRINK AND DRIVE
BUT NOTHING, NOTHING AT ALL!!! OH, is one of your other writers in??? Amazing. All this 'sensitivity BS' being spouted around, but, if a 'regular, normal' person does this, drinks, to above blood alcohol level, speeds to aprox. 120-140 mph off an embankment and kills themselve and another person, there would be HEADLINES about how a DRUNK CARELESS PERSON killed THEMSELVES AND ANOTHER PERSON, but LUCKILY DID NOT KILL OTHERS. No, the papers, no one else would care about the feelings of the families of a 'regular, DRUNK, CARELESS JACKASS that SPED OFF AN EMBANKMENT AND KILLED THEMSELVES, A 'FRIEND' and could have killed who knows else that could have drove by.

  14. 14

Fcuk him. Nothing but a murderer.
Glad he did not torpedo that car into some child's bedroom or the car of a family driving down the road.

I think it is horrible that he died and killed someone else, but he was special to his loved ones, and I dont think it is right for people to be saying such horrible things. He made a mistake. He was still a human being. If it was someone you loved that had done the same thing, wouldnt you miss them and feel bad also. A loss is a loss. This one has just more unfortunate circumstances then some others.

  16. 16

    a memorial for a murderer….how nice!

  17. 17

Re: SaraAG – if she was killed by someone else then it won't go away…if she killed herself then pity her but don't miss her…..your choices determine your life!

  18. 18

His blood alcohol level was 2.3. Yes, he was drunk. And he killed the passenger in his car that was estimated to be going 130-140 mph. That is murder. He may have been the nicest guy in the world but he killed someone. No excuses.

  19. Fabu says – reply to this

Are they also gonna go to the memorial service of the person that Ryan Dunn murdered because the person made the mistake of getting into the car with him?

  20. 20

Has anyone said "sorry" to Roger Ebert after he made the first tweet about drinking and driving? He was slammed by Jackass fans. Now the blood point level and speed is known. So, who apologized to Ebert? I'm guessing no one did.

  21. 21

That is such fucking horse crap. look how drunk he looks in pictures, and you're telling me he didin't look that fucked up in real life? omg

  22. 22

It is all so fun until someone dies…forever for some is not as long as others.

  23. 23

Why is this story getting so much media attention and every day so far?! He brought on the misfortune himself by behaving stupidly! The only good I hope the constant attention brings is to warn others not to do the same thing he did!

  24. 24

    aww :(
all the people saying about him drinking n driving, is there any proof he was over the limit? & people maaking a joke of it wtf he was a human being. what gives all of u the right to say he deserved it. evil people :|

  25. 25

Good lets move on now and be done with this nonsense

  26. 26

Re: branbxoxo – This isn't the first "poor decision" this guy has made. He has a history of driving recklessly. There are even video tapes dating back to 2006 I believe where Bam & his other friends said that, "He'll never learn his lesson." They apparently also had a death pool going and they had Ryan down as "death by vehicle" - so no I don't feel bad for this guy and his not giving a fuck about the law or others on the road with him. I'm guessing you never had to deal with the fallout of having a family member killed by a drunk driver. Local news here had a story where a drunk driver got hammered, drove the wrong way down the street and crashed head-on into a limo where a family was coming home from a wedding. A little girl was decapitated. Her mother was found on he side of the road holding her little girls head in her lap. The driver was going 70mph at the time of impact. I can't even imagine what the carnage would have been with someone going 140mph! So let me just ask you something - did that drunk driver just make a "poor decision?"

  27. 27

wonder if all the Jackasses went out drinking after the memorial?

  28. 28

Re: Team Kim Richards – thats really fucking insensitive who are you to comment on whether someone misses someone they loved. It really doesnt matter how they died they are gone so why dont you shut the fuck up you clueless bitch. people like you piss me off.

  29. 29

To all of you people that have the balls to be rude on a computer need a serious lesson in manners. Perez is being sympathetic to the people that Ryan Dunn left behind. For you to come on here and say mean and hurtful things about anyone is beyond rude. Yes I agree that them getting behind the wheel of a car drunk was stupid, and I am glad that they didn't hit another vehicle and kill anyone else but you have to think about the friends and family that you are putting through hell because you don't have the decency to be nice. I am sorry for the family and friends of Ryan Dunn and Zachary Hartwell, I know how hard it is to lose a member of your family and a friend. I know words can not descried how you feel nor can they help heal the pain, just know that there are decent people out there that are grieving with you.

  30. 30

To those of you who have hateful, mean things to say about this-I truly hope you never lose a loved one (under any circumstances) because no matter how it happens-you will never get it over it and I sincerely hope you never have go through it for that reason alone. To everyone else-including Perez-your words and thoughts have been very comforting, thank you for your kindness.

  31. 31

I do not condone drinking and driving, in fact I frown upon it, it is an unforgiveable crime however some of the comments on here are absolutely disgusting. Dunn was wreckless and stupid to go drink driving at 130mph and sadly it cost 2 lives. Both of these men did not appear to be drunk so they both had some insight about what they are doing. Zach could have refused to get into the car with Dunn, or challenged Dunn about the stupid decision he made to drive but that is not apparent here. I am by no means saying this is Zach's fault but it was a stupid choice that he made too. I have also heard people say that Dunn had over 20 driving convictions, including DUI before, if this is correct, how the hell did Dunn still have a licence??? Isn't that a failure on the Police of Philladelphia to let such a dangerous driver on the roads? Also why didn't the bar staff refuse to serve Dunn or call the police when Dunn drove off? Because it's all about money. They don't care that serving drunk drivers could potentially kill someone. I'm so glad that no one else was killed in this carnage. I don't care what anyone says, this is such a sad loss which could have been avoided. My thoughts go out to Dunns and Zachs family and friends. I hope this teaches people a lesson. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!!!

I thought the toxicology reports werent done yet??? Maybe people shouldnt be so quick to judge others before they know all the facts. RIP Ryan:(
