Way back in December '09, Grammy nominated Reggae singer Buju Banton was arrested in Miami and charged with conspiracy to possess over 11 pounds of cocaine with the intent to deliver!
Given the fact that he's called for the attack of gays in his music, we were ESPECIALLY unsympathetic when we heard that.
Now, a year and half later, a federal judge has sentenced Banton to 10 years in prison, which is the lowest sentence legally allowed for his charges.
To be perfectly honest, we would have been fine with it if he had been given a more harsh sentence. We think his actions were beyond reprehensible, and his anti-gay lyrics have disgusted us over the years.
See you in 10 years, Buju! Let's hope you've changed your hateful ways by then.
