David Tyree Tries To Expand On His Gay Stance, Just Says More Negative Things

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikLGBT

Football star David Tyree has been getting some attention for his very precise and vocal stance on the issue of gay marriage, and homosexuality in general.

They even discussed him on the View.

Now, he was invited on another show to expand upon his thoughts and perhaps clarify what he's been trying to say.

And it turns out, we misunderstood him and he's fully in favor for it!

Just kidding! He's still showing his ignorance on the subject and instead of using rationality he's putting all of his words into beliefs.

Now, don't get us wrong: there is nothing wrong with standing for your beliefs. Not only that, but he is really clear and concise about what he has to say, and tried his best to say it in a respectful manner.

But here's the thing — just because gay marriage is legal doesn't mean that your kids have to be gay and suddenly everyone has to marry their same sex. In fact, it will have NO impact on you and the sanctity of your marriage (which sadly has a better than 50/50 chance of ending in divorce). It has no impact on your day to day life. None. Nada. And what's wrong with teaching your kids tolerance? The world needs MORE tolerance.

The only way it would ever have an effect on you, Tyree, is if one of your kids happens to be born gay and someday they want the same happiness you share with your wife. Do you really want to subject your kids to a lifetime of unhappiness and uncertainty? Do you really want them to feel wrong for having been born absolutely normal because their dad can't be accepting of human rights?

This whole subject really has nothing at all to do with you, Tyree, but everything to do with the happiness and love of human beings.

Quit being a road block and support love!

Equality for all!

He and Obama are correct. Support the definition of traditional marrriage and gives equal benefits but call this modern union something else. The best of both worlds….

READ THE REST OF THE ENTRY….. no thank you. Thanks to you Perez, now I'm done reading your website in 10 minutes.
We know traffic has decreased therefore your revenue has decreased and you are desperate for people to click everywhere. I refuse and so should everyone else.

At the end of the day it does not matter because of all the payola those celebrities are paying you so you won't talk shit about them.

Uh, marriage originated as a means to get money, it was all tied to dowry in ancient civilizations. Yep, that's right, the architecture, the concept of democracy, the sciences, the arts, and even MARRIAGE…a lot of them came BEFORE Christianity and in those days homosexuality was perfectly acceptable. And fuck you Snookietoes, I'm getting a marriage and a motherfucking wedding and equal rights. With us or AGAINST US, no PC in-between BULLSHIT.

This angers me alot. I feel alot of rage knowing that it's 2011 and people are treating us still like second class citizens. I bet this guy was a bully toward us gays in hs.

Ugh….why is it the more ignorant and closed-minded you are, the more they want to blather on and on about it….Bottom line- ALL people should be allowed to get married….Some straight people do not want to get married and some gay people do not want to get married…however, for those WHO DO, equal rights for all…Personally, I think marriage is outdated, however for some that is what they want…so more power to you…This idiot should be reminded how his people had to fight segregation and the right to marry outside of their race….was not that long ago…Minorities who fought for rights and now condemn others who want equal rights is the height of ignorance…."protecting" the instituion of marriage is a joke too… Certain hetero's have managed to ruin that….To each their own and live and let live….

Firstly, I'm not religious, I could care less of that side of the fence.

But you can not demand other peoples minds to change, if you aren't willing to bend your own. You are demanding people to change something because of what you think/feel are. Marriage isn't that great these days anyway, tbh I dare say have something called a union with the same rights, i'd prefer that to the term "getting Married" myself and I'm straight. With marriage comes, divorce and paper work and money hungry gold diggers.

TLDR: Be happy with a union because Marriage sucks anyway.

He's an uneducated football player (I don't care what university gave him a degree in basketweaving). Who cares what he thinks? This issue isn't even about gay marriage anymore - it's challenging the whole 'seperation of chuch and state' which an increasing amount of americans are forgetting all about.

Re: Jen83 – You are so full of shit! No one is asking you to change your mind! believe whatever the fuck you want to believe in no one cares and no one should but the minute you're beliefs get in my way then thats a problem! dont you get it? Its everyone else's opinion on what gay people should or shouldn't be allowed to do that is at issue here. Would you like for others to have a say on what you should or shouldn't be allowed to do? I DONT THINK SO! It's just arrogant to think you are better so you should choose for others! fuck off

Dear David Tyree . . how much are the Mormons paying you to talk shit about gay marriage? Gay marriage will not benefit our country? Do you know Thomas Jefferson believed that freeing the slave will also NOT benefit our country as well? A black has not right to deny Gays of their rights. Also, Jefferson believed that by freeing your people, you eventually bastardize the white race with your blood. So before you speak against human rights, learn from your past.

  12. 12

Tyree is taking a positive stance. He knows he will be highly criticized but is man enough to stand up. I support his views and am thankful to be in a country where people can express what they believe. Tyree is lifting up the idea of marriage. Regarding a comment by sanfran1: "Bottom line- ALL people should be allowed to get married," I think it's not that simple - society rightfully looks at what marriage is and at what it is not, and decides a daughter and a dad don't make a marriage, a brother and a sister is not a marriage . . .

  13. 13

you all know the bullshit coming out of his mouth smells like MORMON. The mormons frightened people that gay sex was going to be taught in public schools and thats why prop 8 passed. Either way church cant get involved in public schools since the schools are funded by the government. These morons, oops i mean mormons dont know understand the "seperation of church and state" clause. They are a bunch of idiots who believe they have prophets who talk directly to God.

  14. 14

I tweeted this earlier. I hope he gets it. LOL. When i get pissed i become a pure class chusma. Must be in my cuban blood. @DavidTyree #DavidTyreeIsAHomophobicLoser Is your dick as small as your brain?!? It's fucken 2011 get of that 1950's mentality loser.

  15. 15

I believe in Jesus so have to follow the bible. Doesn't mean Im not sensitive to the values of others. I dont think people separate the religious practice of marriage from the civil application. Two different things. Marriage is a civil right and all should be able to marry under the law. But as a Christian I do not have to believe in Gay marriages validity to protect it. This is symbolic of the need to allow all to be equals in man and can not be disrepected, less we all lose what is means to be free.

  16. 16

@rockstdy I hear you but I dont think you really understand what it means to actually believe in traditional marriage. Now dont get me wrong I believe you should be allowed to marry for the sake of all adults having the same rights as all men. But understand me, I dont believe that you are correct that this is just a religious debate. This is a concept of procreation, the basis for all existence. Marriage was designed to protect that. It is the natural home that homo-sapien developed over millions of years of evolution. (yes evolution and Jesus can coexist). 1 man and 1 woman is needed to create and prepare a child for what the world may face. If you are a woman you can not give and accurate account of what it means to be a man and vice versus. This is essential to a child's identity. Not to say a Gay couple can not raise a child but creating one is a whole other thing. Yes, we play God all day long w/ abortions and fertility methods so that people can create their own view of the world (and that just might be our downfall), but when all is said and done, if you and your partner were the only people on the planet…life is over. Oh yes and I am straight but Im sure you already know that by now. Anyway, I hope I didnt offend you.

That's so true : "It has no impact on your day to day life. None. Nada." Daid Tyree needs to get his gay sex typical black guy perverted self out the gutter. Country bumpkin Bigots keep making it about them which is so stupid & ignorant. Again just days after chris brown said the gay hated remark and weeks after tracy morgan said disgusting homophobe remarks, here is ANOTHER black guy saying the same thing yet in a suit & worded differently. I'm a black gay guy & none of these guys are black to me. they're sell out hypocritical dehumanizing ingrates that need to check into hate rehab tomorrow. How can black people not accept human rights when black people have been slaves for hundreds of years, plus killed & treated like crap because they were black, and here come hating black guy #500 DAvid Tyree saying this bullcrap that's a waste of television that that talk show can't get back? Oh and why are there so many black guys who are straight or have girlfriends or act all manly in public, why do they hit on me for late night booty calls? I swear Ignorance is not bliss & this is proof that America is one of the LAST countries that has so much animosity towards the gays and stuff.

  18. 18

    some people are just ignorant.

  19. 19

ever notice how a lot of black men are vocally anti-gay in public but in private they are on the "down-low"
for thos who aren't familiar with the term:
"Down-low is an African-American slang term that refers to a subculture of men who usually identify as heterosexual, but who have sex with men; some avoid sharing this information even if they have female sexual partner"
"Rejecting a gay culture they perceive as white and effeminate, many black men have settled on a new identity, with its own vocabulary and customs and its own name: Down Low. There have always been men – black and white – who have had secret sexual lives with men. But the creation of an organized, underground subculture largely made up of black men who otherwise live straight lives is a phenomenon of the last decade… Most date or marry women and engage sexually with men they meet only in anonymous settings like bathhouses and parks or through the Internet. Many of these men are young and from the inner city, where they live in a hypermasculine thug culture. Other DL men form romantic relationships with men and may even be peripheral participants in mainstream gay culture, all unknown to their colleagues and families. Most DL men identify themselves not as gay or bisexual but first and foremost as black. To them, as to many blacks, that equates to being inherently masculine."

  20. 20

I think him being a Black man he should focus on why there isn't any Male figures or baby daddies in most black household with children? and leave the gay thing alone boo
while we're at it…as an Athlete he should also focus on why sooo many of them who are married cheat like crazy on their wives and leave the gay thing alone

  21. 21

Don't be a hypocrite…everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Just because YOU think it's right does not mean everyone else HAS to think it's right! Quit bitching. Freedome of speech is a right in this country. If you can say whatever you want about people on this shit site then others can do the same.

  22. 22

    Another arrogant asshole!

  23. 23

Re: rockstdy – You're doing exactly the same thing you're bitching about … the mormons are entitled to their own religion just like you are entitled to your own sexual preference. Bunch of stupid hypocrites on this site. You're either for equality or against it, right angry CatAttack? Jesus…

  24. 24

i believe that gays should not marry. who cares if gay readers respond back F U, you are stupid….blah, blah, blah. never gonna meet them. don't want to meet them. i'm sure there are nice gay people. that's great. but you can't change my mind. throwing insults and telling someone that they are small-minded doesn't change it either. the fact is, it won't happen because the majority of americans will not let it happen. it goes against their grain of thinking. i'm sorry that you are gay…i'm sorry that you cannot get married. It has to be hard to be gay in today's world sometimes. and i'm glad i' m not gay. i don't think anyone wakes up and says i want to be gay. who wants to have to worry about what society thinks on a daily basis? it still doesn't change how i believe deep down though.

  25. 25

As if I’m going to sit here and listen to what some ex-con has to say about MY life! No thanks. If he was remotely intelligent he would look at countries which have already legalized gay marriage and see how little has changed. The sky hasn't fallen. Stick to what you know best, which I'm afraid, is not much.

  26. 26

Poor David Tyree…if you don't believe in Gay Marriage I would suggest you do not marry a gay person? I believe that the U.S. had slavery once upon a time…we as a country changed that cause it was wrong…do not put your beliefs on someone else….you have your beliefs and I have mine…BUT we are ALL EQUAL…and by taking a stand against gay marriage you are saying we are not equal…shame on you knowing all of our backgrounds…

  27. 27

his such a douche bag it is untrue, people like this make me not want to ever go to the us!

  28. 28

Everyone has the right to speak their mind. Now speaking illogical bullshit and making yourself look like an idiot, that's his choice.

  29. 29

The 'drug dealer', 'ex-con' can now add 'un-accomplished bigot' to his resume because his recent bigotry accomplished nothing in NY.
