Let the voters decide. The blacks and Latinos in NY will vote it down.

  2. 2

The dumbshit is paid to care what WE think. This is where the trouble begins: when politicians start making choices based on what they want, and not what the people want.

quote of the DAY? this was from a week ago. ANd, to the two tards above me…. why didn't we let the voters decide about civil rights for blacks? oh… yeah.

Yes New York…lets do the right thing!!!!!

It is funny how a politician thinks it is his own personal decision on how to vote…he is supposed to be a voice for his PEOPLE that elected him - not charge off on his own agenda.
Hope he enjoys his last term.

Re: DMBfan – Nice screen name! Headin to Atlantic city this weekend by chance?

I have always been amazed at how some of these groups, the Gays and the Blacks will sacrifice so much, will even embrace a police state and total loss of all other freedoms, just so they can proclaim they won something, they elevated themselves to some level.
    -
Homosexual activists will align themselves with a party that is destroying our nation, destroying our economy, destroying freedom, destroying the military, all so they can one day say they got “gay marriage!”
    -
The only constituency that matters is the Elite ruling class as they fly to Davos, Switzerland in their private jets.

Re: PerezTheHypocrite – Sooooo true. People forget politicians are elected to represent their constituants. I don't know what the people he represents believe but I know my representative stands by his districts majority even when he differs. It is his JOB and what he was elected to do.
    .
I don't always agree with the views of the people of my district but I have faith my representative will vote with the majority. That is why he has been our representative for all of my nearly 30 years.

He said he was tired of Republican-Democrat politics. He said they could take this job and shove it if the people didn't like it. He even dropped an exasperated F-bomb.
The most important thing to remember, and the thing that you should consider most, is he said he was trying to do the right thing.
In the face of adversity, while breaking ranks with his own party and many of his constituents, he said this was a matter of conscience.
    Consider the courage that took.
Consider the ramifications it could have on his political future.
There is no reason for Roy McDonald to break ranks and cast this vote unless he was indeed following his heart.
Perhaps he has been softened by being a grandfather and taking up the fight of autism for two of those grandkids.
Perhaps, at 64, he realizes he is far closer to the
end than the beginning and it is time to make a difference.
You can disagree with him on this issue, but no matter how strong your passion, you should not confuse the issue with the man.
We need more people who are willing to change their minds, who are willing to listen to the other side and evolve.
    The world changes.
    Our culture changes.
We should applaud a leader willing to change with it.
Even if we disagree with him.

Re: SpiceGuy – Great! Then vote for that! It's the choice of the people and not one person, or a handful of people. This is not an oligarchy or monarchy. I never said not to make gay marriage legal or not legal. My statement pertains to this ONE man who was ELECTED to represent the PEOPLE, taking matters into his own hands.
As for MrsBradPitt: There is a reason the civil war was fought. Don't be a ridiculous. The people wanted freedom, a very few, but very rich in power didn't want that…so we went to war. That was the people's voice working. Through the years we have refined (we hope) the way we make and change laws, based upon democracy, not one man and what he thinks is "right". You argue against the very point you are trying to make here. If we had let one man or a few men in power make the choices, there would still be slavery, not the other way around. The whole north of the US was against slavery, which means the greater portion of the population at that time. Oh and by the way, nice use of the word "tards". Hard to take you seriously when you resort to derogatory name calling.

Re: PerezTheHypocrite – Thanks! No AC for me. Sadly I have these ridiculous things called "responsibilities" getting in my way. Life has thwarted my dreams of Dave yet again :( I was going to say I hope you have a good time if you're going….but who am I kidding? I KNOW you'll have a good time!

  19. 19

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT GAYS AND PEDOPHILES ARE HOPING FOR, THAT THEY WILL BREAK DOWN THE PUBLIC AND WE WILL ALL JUST GIVE IN TO THEIR DEMANDS, OUT OF TOTAL EXHAUSTION FROM HEARING ABOUT IT

  20. 20

Re: DMBfan – you retard. I mean you are RETARDED. Have you never heard of the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT OF THE 60'S????? I wasn't talking about the fucking civil war, you mental midget. People in the south would have (and DID) vote overwhelmingly for "separate but equal" facilities for BLACKS!!! this was in the last 50 years!!! And yet COURAGEOUS members of congress voted against what their constituents wanted and passed the Civil RIghts laws of the 50s and 60s.
    .
Our constitution is based on the idea of preventing the tyranny of the majority. Majority rule with respect for minority rights!!!! jesus tittyfucking christ, did you fail U.S. history???
    .
People CAN NOT vote to limit the rights of other citizens. Marriage is a CIVIL CONTRACT. People cannot vote to decide that "some people" can get this civil contract but others can't. THis is against the constitution.
