Same-Sex Households Are Becoming MUCH More Common!

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayLove LineInspirationLGBT

This is EXACTLY what we like to hear!

According to state census data just released, the number of gay and lesbian households in California have grown SIX times faster than those of heterosexual spouses between 2000 and 2010, climbing 36.2% as compared to the latter's 5.7%!

William Frey, a demographer with the Brookings Institution in Washington, attributes this to the growing acceptance of the LGBT community, and explains:

"It's indicative of a trend. We're a more open society."

And Gary Gates, of the Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation Law and Public Policy, thinks that the numbers will only continue to increase - even in less 'accepting' states!

He explains:

"You'll see even bigger jumps in more conservative states. The closet is getting smaller."

Amazing! It's so wonderful to see this kind of progress all over the country in this small a window in time!

We just hope that it can CONTINUE, and speed up - as everyone should feel comfortable living openly with the person they love - WHEREVER they choose!

Pass me a bucket! Didnt this site used to be about Celeb Gossip. Whats all this gay agenda about? You have a site for Gossip, a site for dogs, a site for fitness, an x-rated site and a site for fashion. Perhaps its time to get a Gay agenda straight bashing site so that you can preach to an audience who give a shit. Your self appointed spokeperson for gay rights comes across as whiney and hysterical. Give us a break and do a site specifically for that, and leave the people who come to this site for fun alone. I bet if you do you'll extend its life by a cpl more years.

I have nothing against gay people…………but that aint normal! Same sex house holds! They can't even produce their own children…it will never work! It should stop!

Gay people living together is nothing new, you idiot. It's just recently being studied. I can skew numbers to reflect anything I want, much the way Caca skews the numbers about the sales of her shitty albums. Nobody is denying the "rights" of gays to live together; you guys don't need marriage. Civil unions yes, marriage no. I've got friends who are gay and who don't think it's appropriate to broadcast their sexual preferences because it's tacky to do so. They say that they're comfortable with who and what they are, and that only the insecure and unwanted make a huge issue of it. We all know that's something you know about intimately, Perez. Equal rights for all my ass.

One study has said that homosexuality is caused by over population.
This Earth is definitely over populated.

they're not becoming more common…people are just being more honest about it
they are less inclined to call their partner their room mate the way years ago they would pretend to be sharing an apartment with a friend
there are now laws and society is less judgemental, so most, depending on the area they live, are now comfortable telling the truth and not fearful of discrimination

This is what we like to hear???? Why, i get it that there is nothing wrong with it, i guess, but actually wanting to see more same sex households instead of mom AND dad. Your a fucking idiot, and never say there is not a gay agenda, especially after this post.

    1. Perez is gay and gay rights is one of his obsessions…you can easily skip over the handful of gay entries.
    2. Bigots talk tough but in my experience are all p-ssies.
    3. I'm now in one of those "same sex households" since I am living with my bf now. I just think people are being more honest and open about who they are…probably no increase in the NUMBER of gays…just the number of OUT gays.

Oh, and um, the earth may be "overpopulated" but if Nature wanted to reduce the number of humans, there are far more effective ways to do it.

You haven't a clue fatboy. You find something that suits your agenda, write what you naively think it means, do no research into the real background of the story then post it here to trumpet another victory for the gays. You've destroyed your supposed gossip site with your gay fanaticism, you've lost viewers who've gone to much better sites where they don't have to put up with the host's personal agenda, and you're now desperately trying to get extra hits with the "read more" link. Word is out, no one clicks that link to feed your totals. Your credibility has gone down the toilet, too many erroneous stories will do that. Karma fatboy, karma.

i am completely pro-gay, its your choice! but WHY is it "exactly what you want to hear" so you want more and more gay people? you want the world to not be able to procreate? just a little confused!

  14. 14

i have no agenda against "civil unions" BUT what about the "divorce rate" for them. if G/L are moving in larger than hetero's, what is the statistic of long term? i think folks wait longer to marry as they don't want to end in divorce. BUT look at the "outed" G/L's who 'divorce'. i think G/L's use their "union" as dating but they don't consider the longevity of thier life and the sacrament it takes to be married. - again, just my personal thought. but Ellen, Rosie, Martina, and countless of others - once they claim thier "love" ALL separate. i think G/L unions have a worse success rate than marrainge HOWEVER, i do belive in unions.

That is great news, I love to see happy families gay or otherwise.

It does not matter if the world is overpopulated, that has nothing to do with men choosing to have sex with other men; this study includes dorms at colleges. As much as the homosexuals want to legitimize their abnormal lifestyle, they can't. Perez, no matter how much you and your legion engage in hate speech and bigotry against those who do not accept your abnormal lifestyle choice the mere choice you make will not be equated with the norm. Your fruitless cause is not equated with civil rights…give it up.

It's kinda like a little kid who when he does not get his way calls other names even though he knows he is wrong.

Re: MarioMonjack – You are an embarrassment to yourself, your family and humanity.

  19. 19

The arguments that gay people are weird, sick, unnatural, etc. are getting so paper thin with each passing day that it is a complete joy to watch those who hang on to these arguments appear as though they are trying to fill the Grand Canyon with a thimble.

  20. 20

whine, whine, whine, that's all you homophobes ever do. there has been gay people since the beginning of time and they will be here until the end of time. get over it. instead of bitching about something you will never be able to change why don't you go do what yo do best, having a bunch of kids that end up being as stupid as you.

  21. 21

ai Perez, when are you gonna stop talking about human rights? this is America, this home of the stupid, land of the hypocrite. human rights doesn't make any sense in a place populated by morons!!! give up the fight! lol!

"This is EXACTLY what we like to hear! " ?? That's madness. I am totally pro-choice but that comment sounds like you want to win a war based on numbers of gay vs hetero couples. EQUALITY is great. That comment was dumb.
