And why shouldn't they? There's been SO MUCH going on in the world these days!
For the first time in ten years, evening news broadcasts on NBC, ABC, and CBS have had a collective increase in viewers.
This shouldn't come as a total shocker though, given everything that's been going on in the news lately. We'd imagine the death of Osama bin Laden and the Royal Wedding probs helped bring in lots of viewers.
Here are a couple of noteworthy stats for evening news programs during this quarter:
-NBC Nightly News had best quarter since 2006's second quarter (averaging 8.5 million viewers)
-ABC World News brought in largest audience in three years (averaging 7.6 million viewers)
-CBS Evening News up 8% from same time last year (averaging 5.6 million viewers)
Overall, we've had over 21 million viewers tuning in for the news each week. Not bad!
Maybe you should start an evening news program, Paris. Ha!
