Google is just the latest company to throw their hat in the Hulu ring.

Along with Microsoft and Yahoo, Google has been added to the list of potential buyers interested in purchasing Hulu, which is currently co-owned by Disney, News Corp., NBC Universal and Providence Equity Partners.

If bidders go high enough, analysts say that Hulu could receive about $2 billion-$3 billion in the deal.

Whoa. That's some major dough. If Google takes over Hulu, we wonder how that will affect their deal with YouTube??

Why would it affect Youtube? Youtube is free, you have to pay for Hulu which only consists of TV shows, movie previews etc. They're different

I hope hulu stays as is. It's my go to site for missing simpsons and family guy, american dad cause it's on at the same time as desperate housewives. And other shows too.

Re: SarahNJ – They're a bit different, yes, but Hulu is also free. There's just a bit more rules to it.

Fuck Hulu. They want you to pay to watch shows that have fuckin' commercials.

Re: SarahNJ – Hulu is free too, they just don't support user-uploaded films. People can upload anything they want on YouTube while Hulu supports lots of current TV shows for those of us who don't have DVR and if you pay a little for membership you can watch additional full length films. It makes me really sad that these big companies keep buying up the small guys and making them into these giant piles of crap. Google ruined YouTube… someone took over MY youtube account when they linked their Google to mine and Google does NOTHING to help… they just say "email the person who took your account" but that person doesn't respond. Fantastic.

Newsflash: Google bought Youtube for 1.65 billion in '06. They don't answer to companies they own. Such stupid writing. I don't even know why I still come to this site. You're never going to be the next Nick Denton. Give it, and all you stupid links up.

Whenever something is presented in the Hulu format, I get the message that Hulu is not available "in my area." I live in Mexico and get everything else like Youtube and the movie trailers presented by Yahoo. I can't understand why Hulu isn't available. I think it has something to do with Disney\Newscorp (Murdock-ugh) trying to control the media for $$.

If Microsoft buys it, they'll do nothing else than find a way to ruin it. When's the last time a Microsoft purchase actually continued to exist after being purchased?

2-3 billion? Wow, what a waste of fucking money.
