As we've heard, Justin Timberlake has purchased a stake in the failing social networking site MySpace, and plans to help revitalize it and bring it back into the picture.
His plan? Some sort of online talent competition!
JT's manager had this to say:
"Whether it becomes a talent competition or something like that, those are things that we will still flesh out. We definitely want to bring the industry back to MySpace to really look at the talented people that have put their faces there."
And here's what JT had to say himself:
"There's a need for a place where fans can go to interact with their favorite entertainers, listen to music, watch videos, share and discover cool stuff and just connect. MySpace has the potential to be that place … I'm excited to help revitalize MySpace by using its social media platform to bring artists and fans together in one community."
MySpace has always been a decent locale for emerging bands and whatnot, and for people to find and interact with them. It looks like JT is going to be looking at that specifically to get the site back on its feet!
So that means you guys need to brush up on your skillz and possibly prepare to re-add MySpace to your bookmarks!
Good luck, Justin!
