You can take this out of the "Hollywood Is Still Running Out Of Ideas" box.
He'll actually be taking over the Jack Nicholson character who will be slightly different from the movie version. In the sitcom version, Charlie's character will be an athlete who got his master's degree in social work during his offseason.
And, in the show, his character will become a counselor to defendants who have anger management issues. Naturally, Charlie will of course have his own anger management problems to deal with. Hmm, sound familiar?
Producer Joe Roth, who wrote and produced the movie, will also be producing the show. This won't be his first time working with Charlie - the two have worked on 5 other projects, including Major League, Young Guns, and Three Musketeers.
Lionsgate is reportedly closing the deal, however a network has yet to pick it up.
We're a bit skeptical of the plot of the show, but Charlie does have his loyal fans. It's a potential hit.
Will U watch?
