Okay, this is not exactly the bandwagon you should be jumping on to promote your product!
After the country collectively lost its yesterday in light of Casey Anthony being found not guilty of the murder of her two-year-old daughter, Entenmann's decided to use the opportunity to make a pretty tasteless joke via Twitter:
Who's #notguilty about eating all of the tasty treats they want?!
And of course, once they realized how NOT FUNNY it was, the message was deleted and promptly replaced with:
Sorry everyone, we weren’t trying to reference the trial in our tweet! We should have checked the trending hashtag first
Our #notguilty tweet was insensitive, albeit completely unintentional. We are sincerely sorry.
Psh! Yeah right!
That's one hell of a coincidence! Especially because the hashtag was included!
We're calling damage control on this one - BIG TIME!
Perhaps Entenmann's might want to consider re-assigning someone else to handle the Twitter feed - regardless of how out of line and too soon that was, it's also just a pretty bad joke!
Fail and FAIL!
