Will & Kate Visit Fire-Ravaged Slave Lake Area In Canada

A little good Will & Kate!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continued their tour of Canada today with a stop in the Slave Lake Area. In May, one-third of the town was destroyed by a terrible wind-whipped wildfire. In total, 400 homes and business were turned to ash and the area has been really struggling to rebuild.

Hoping to bring the people of Slave Lake some much needed publicity to help their relief effort, William and Kate made time to tour the town and visit with the families that have lost their homes and livelihoods in the second most expensive catastrophe to affect Canada.

So nice of them! Really, they are making such a difference on this trip for so many people. Here's hoping the people of the Slave Lake get the help they need!

I live in Slave Lake area, and have to say it put many smiles on many faces that haven't had a lot of laughs the past couple of months! Just to see people happy, excited, and celebrating does wonders for the heart and soul! Many thanks for posting this, Perez….much appreciated. =)

fucking clowns! why people still believe in these kind of people and their bs i would never know.

I give them alot of credit for the visit, during what should otherwise have been a breezy, post-wedding trip. Even alot of Canadian politicians have ignored this area.

sorry bout the people in slave lake, but nobody cares about the royals here. although the princess is looking mighty fuckable

I worry about the stick thin Kate the the image she is giving young girls.

Why don't they give out some money or diamonds or something if they are so caring? Where did they get all their money anyway?

I thought it was pretty cool that Royalty came to my little hometown of Slave Lake. I know from friends that lost their homes that is made them happy and gave them a day where they can focus on something exciting rather then the stress of the whole situation we are dealing with. I just wish I would have taken time off of work to go and see them. People got lots of great pictures though.

i was very excited to have them in slave lake i never got to see them tho i was stuck at work but still VERY excited. What they did for us was amazing even tho they didnt hand out diamonds or money (they wouldnt be rich if they handed out money and such to every person who asked for it) but they did bring us publicity and helped us get the word out that our little town needs finantial help and volenteer and what ever els. Either way im just saying it was a honour to have them take the time out of there hecktic lives JUST to come show there support for us =) and thats enough for me

Re: Whoaaa – i don't worry about the image to young girls. I think people dont give girls enough credit for being intelligent enough to make healthy decisions. However she is way too thin. Not attractive.

I love William and Kate. I think they really do care about people…you can see it in their faces when they talk to them. They can't save everyone, but I agree with the comments that they have brought happiness and smiles to the people of Slave Lake that have lost so much…

Re: hell2dno – I think that they have brought some joy and hope to people. I know that there is controversy in regards to taxes going to the Royal Family but I would rather it go to that than to politicians who piss it away on crappy art and private jets to who knows where and to the pensions they get for royally screwing our country for however long they serve…
