A smart move for Smart!
Elizabeth Smart was famously kidnapped from her home in Utah and kept prisoner for 8 months. Now, she is putting her terrifying to good use as ABC News has hired her to appear on the network as a contributor to missing persons stories. ABC News spokesperson Julie Townsend announced the news this morning and added:
"She’ll help our viewers better understand missing person stories from someone with the perspective to know what a family experiences when a loved one goes missing."
Elizabeth herself did not release a statement on her new job, but the spokesperson added that this career move is all about "looking ahead, not looking back at her own story." Elizabeth is slated to start in just a few weeks.
Congrats on the new job, Elizabeth. We think this will be an excellent way for you to further come to peace with what happened to you. You might even be able to save countless others from the same fate. We're proud of you, girl!
