Coulson To Be Arrested

According to the Guardian, it's true: Andy Coulson, former editor of the News Of The World, is to be arrested on Friday morning for his direct involvement with the hacking scandal that brought the whole paper down.

The Guardian has also said that a second arrest will be made in the next few days, but would not reveal the name for fear of compromising an ongoing police investigation.

Coulson was reportedly contacted by police on Thursday and asked to turn himself in to a police station in London on Friday, where he will be formally questioned. It is thought that Coulson will be released on bail.

Hopefully the fact that papers are reporting it ahead of time doesn't make him bolt!

Nah, who'd be crazy enough to do that??

What they did was reprehensible. Rupert Murdoch should be held responsible as well as there was an encouraging atmosphere at NoW. Murdoch needs to face time as well.

This could actually bring down the government. It's crazy. Amazing and crazy. Horrible for the thousands of people involved - most of whom don't even know yet if they were snooped on. Families of murder victims, families of dead soldiers, anyone who has ever met anyone the papers were interested in. It's just jaw-dropping. The ABSOLUTE worst part though is that the police were handing information to the papers. Witness statements given by victims of crimes - including sexual assaults etc were handed over to the newspapers along with their names, addresses etc so the papers could try and harass them into selling their story. We expect all kinds from media and politics - they could barely shock us we thought! But the police?? No one is safe right now and no one I know is ever going to go to the police to report a crime again - it's just not safe to go to them anymore.

Re: Susie-Q – Rupert Murdoch is Australian-American, but the top should have to answer as well, imo.
