music sales are up in 2011

We are THRILLED to hear this!

According to industry reports, music sales are up for 2011, after many years of struggle!

Here are some of the encouraging numbers for ya:

- Overall music sales up 8.5% over same time last year (756 mill - 821 mill sales)

- Overall album sales are up 3.6% (213.6 mill to 221.5 mill sales)

- Digital album sales are up 19% (42.2 mill to 50.3 mill sales!)

- Digital track sales are up 11% (597.4 mill to 660.8 mill sales)

Here's what president of the National Association of Recording Merchandisers Jim Donio had to say about these numbers:

"The music industry has been from pillar to post over these seven years. This is positive news for us."

We're very happy to hear it! Let's keep on supporting the music industry so we can bring those numbers even higher!

Do U think music sales will continue to go up?

what a joke. the music industry is dead. lead by old dudes who watched youngens steal the whole industry under their noses while they said no to the future and technology. they shed billions in value and this means nothing. they are dinosaurs and the 3 that are left out of 12 wont survive either….
