bloomberg to officiate gay wedding

Bloomberg, you are on a roll!

Yesterday, we were SO PLEASED to announce that NYC Mayor Bloomberg would be opening city offices on Sunday July 24 so that gay couples could get married on the day that legalization of gay marriage takes effect.

Now, in another sweet and totally supportive move by Bloomberg, the NYC Mayor has offered to officiate his chief policy adviser John Feinblatt's marriage to his longtime partner/city's commissioner for consumer affairs Jonathan Mintz.

Here's what Mintz had to say about it when Feinblatt proposed Bloomberg's idea:

"The mayor and John popped the question."

Ha! Here's what Bloomberg had to say about it:

"John and Jonathan are two of the smartest and hardest-working people in our administration. This just felt like the best way for me to say thank you."

The wedding will take place on July 24 at Gracie Mansion. We're sure it will be an absolutely wonderful event!!!

Yes, all well and good, but has he agreed to dress up like Chiquita Banana?

that's totally cool of Mayor Bloomberg. he seems to care less about how this would effect his political career unlike a certain ex New York mayor.

Remember the gay couple who took in former mayor Rudy Giuliani after his previous marriage hit the skids? Giuliani is pretending he doesn't: First, he skipped the couple's 2009 Connecticut wedding, after RSVPing yes. Now, says car dealer Howard Koeppel, Giuliani has reneged on a promise to remarry Koeppel and Mark Hsiao in their home city of New York, where it's just become legal. Koeppel tells the Post that when he asked if the mayor would marry them years ago, the reply seemed, on balance, positive:
"He said, 'Howard, I don't ever do anything that's not legal. If it becomes legal in New York, you'll be one of the first ones I would marry.' "

Ten years later, Koeppel is distressed that his former house guest hasn't returned the many calls he began making before the legislation was passed last week.
"It seems like a lot of people he was close to become persona non grata," Koeppel observed.

Wow Perez, I was on a different site and they are getting alot more hits than you are I think. The comments are off the wall. One catagory had over 300 comments. I have noticed that yours has taken a big tumble. If your lucky on a good subject you might hit 50 or so. Maybe you should start taking some of the ppl's advice or your gonna loose your bread and butter. I noticed that when you post a comment of the other site it gets posted right away, your takes minutes and then alot of the times it never posts at all. You said you were going to fix that problem awhile back and never did.

Re: buggadaboo – Hilton knows this site is in trouble, that's why he has started adding the annoying "read the rest of the entry" to all his posts, desperately trying to get every hit he can. That way he can falsely tell the few advertisers he has left that he has more hits than is actually the case. No one should ever click that link. Hilton has driven away his readers by the thousands by turning this site into an outlet for his gay agenda and his biases. It is no longer a gossip site, and any gossip here is now stolen from other sites. Hilton does no legwork, no research, he has no one out there looking for exclusive stories. He's a fraud. He's lucky to get 10 comments anymore, some stories have 0 comments. The site is dying and Hilton is too stubborn and blind to admit that he has flopped big time. He is not a businessperson, all of his ventures have failed because of his terrible reputation. Just do a search online and it doesn't take much time to realize how much he is hated by gays and straights. I don't come here for gossip.

As a new yorker myself, I don't like Bloomberg's policies one bit. He's all about budget cuts to the public schools and taxing sugar and shit like that. But with the passing of gay marriage, he earned a gold star from me lol. And you know what's even more wonderful, I will be getting married on the day that ALL new yorkers can get married as well!
