Tobey Maguire Likes To Play Poker, But He Doesn't Always Win At It

Seriously. Tobey Maguire must love playing poker.
So much so that he has two separate bank accounts devoted to it: Poker Account and Poker Account (2), as revealed by:
"a legal response that Maguire filed on July 5, 2011, to a lawsuit that was filed against him for money he’d won from convicted Ponzi schemer Brad Ruderman, and included copies of checks to prove he both won and lost money during the illegal poker ring games, putting him about even with Ruderman."
There are also records of checks issued and their specific amounts:
On June 2, 2007, Maguire wrote out check #60081 for $105,000 to Ruderman and then just two months later on August 6, 2007, check #60090 to Ruderman for $28,500. That leaves nine checks somewhere in between that Maguire had used from his poker accounts.
That's a lot of money, Tobey!
We say that if you're doing it legally, fine, go ahead. Just don't love it so much that you risk more than money doing it illegally!
Maybe next time just go to Vegas or somewhere where gambling is legit.
Plus, who actually creates checking accounts specifically for gambling…?

Why do you say that like it's unheard of to have a gambling account? You get a paycheck, put some away, and use it to gamble. That way you know exactly how much you have to lose without giving away every penny to your name.
The gambling account is good. Keeps him from overspending….wish I had that much money to play with.
Sounds like a gambling addiction to me. And Ben Aflec wants to be a politician?
He looks like a total homeless in this pic.
Probably to hide it from his wife!!!
He has one of the biggest cocks in Hollywood. FACT!! YAY!!!!!
He looks like he has been hitting the peace pipe. lol
You make it sound like having a gambling account is some taboo, trashy thing. My fiance' has a debit account that he uses for the sole purpose of making deposits into his name for Poker Stars and Ultimate Bet. Of course, it's more like $50, not $50,000 bucks. But the reason he does that is b/c of what wild-guitar said- it keeps him from overspending.
It's actually smart to have a gambling account. My cousin's husband has a gambling account. He never puts money into it, and he will take money out from his winnings to fund "extras". They've gone to a 5 star resort in Mexico and took their year old daughter on a 10 day trip to Spain solely on the winnings this year. They get to use the benefits of his winnings, but they never have to worry about overspending out of their daily accounts.
