William And Kate Have A Delightful Visit…To Skid Row!

Kind of hard to believe, but their visit was a huge success!

Last week, we learned that William & Kate had plans to visit downtown Los Angeles' Skid Row, which is the homeless capital with over 4,000 people crammed in a 50-square block area living in dirty tents and cardboard boxes.

We had heard that they were planning on painting and making ceramics with impoverished children at the Inner-City Arts academy…but we were still a bit nervous for them.

Fortunately, everything turned out fine, and William & Kate got along wonderfully with the kids!

While crafting a turtle with some of the kids, William playfully said the following:

"Should we make it a smiley tortoise? A happy one? A crazy tortoise? Should we name it Harry?"

"Have you guys ever seen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? No? It's a cartoon much cooler than it sounds."

And then here's what William said to Kate when the turtle was finished:

"This is our turtle. We've named him William!"

And here's what William had to say before they left for the day:

"I'm having fun. I could stay here all day. This is brilliant."

We are SO happy that their Skid Row visit went so well! Sounds like it was definitely a meaningful experience for William, Kate, and all of those kids!

Aw, this really warms my heart! So sad to see kids living like this when they have no say or means to change it.

why would you be nervous for someone to visit skid row and an art center for children? seems quite judgmental and rude for someone who wants equality for all…those are people too… who in some cases cannot help the fact they ended up homeless…and i'm sure no one wants to be homeless or judged for being so…being a royal doesn't make anyone better than anyone else in the world or equality and equal rights

OF COURSE IT'S FUN… WHEN YOU LIVE IN A CASTLE AN OCEAN AWAY. THESE 2 PRICKS SHOULD TRY LIVING THERE FOR A YEAR. BET IT WONT BE THAT MUCH "FUN". NEXT.

I think that they did have a nice visit to North America all the way around. Kate seems to take to public appearances perfectly. Seems like this really was fun for William. I don't think it's wrong for them all to enjoy the same fun.

I want to see the painting that William made, I've seen Kate's.

I agree that Perez put it on too thick that he was worried about the Skid Row trip. If you have any business needs in the Los Angeles wholesale district you've been by/through Skid Row. Not scary. There are scary places in LA, but not so much Skid Row.

The royal assholes are disgusting, "Let's go see how the poor people live."
Is their visit suppose to make the children happy?
Some of the money donated from their 10 million dollar wedding would have helped.
    They think that's good PR???
    I don't think so.

glad that they brought attention to the fact that there are homeless families with children struggling, along with homeless individuals
and that something desperately needs to be done to help them

    You're such an ignorant tool.

i'm happy they brought attention to Skid Row. These people are the ones that are often forgotten, especially with the ideas of how terrifying or scary and awful it is there.
