Did you see this week's True Blood?

Good, wasn't it?? Were you surprised with the ending??

In case you didn't see Sunday's episode, there was a pretty major DEATH at the end of the episode that had a lot of fans wondering, "Why?"

Well, creator Alan Ball and author of the books Charlaine Harris have some answers for you.

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

Eric, played by the amazing ASkars, was seen feeding off of Sookie's fairy godmother Claudine, which doesn't happen until much later in the books.

Ball says:

"After everything that was going on with the fairies in the first episode, I think we wanted to sort of put a pin in that, but obviously it’s not over. I felt it would have more impact if it was someone we knew as opposed to just a random fairy."

Thankfull, author Charlaine was cool with Alan's decision to kill her off.. She adds:

"If we did just do everything in the books, there would be no surprises. It’s not like we have a formula for what we’re going to keep from the books and what we’re going to change. If there’s a consensus that something makes sense, that’s usually the way we go. If he can be gracious to me, I can certainly be gracious enough to wait and see where he’s going."

As for the rest of this shocking season, Alan says:

"It gets ugly between the vampires and the witches. There’s more than one fight coming up. There’s also a very unexpected romantic attachment which you’ll start to see the beginnings of I believe in next week’s episode. We’re gonna find out a lot about Jesus’ magic that’s in his family. We’re gonna get to the bottom of what’s going on with Arlene’s baby."

Sooo excited! Just keep giving us Vampire Eric and we'll be satisfied!

So, Truebies! What did U think of this week's episode?

I don't like the fairies in True Blood as much as I did the books. They weren't all evil and weird.

  2. 2

This show is sucking hard this year. If it wasn't for ASkars I would be done with it! I would love to be a writer and fix this mess of a show. So if AB or CH read your site, here is how to fix it.
Get rid of Tommy. He is annoying as hell.
Get Jason out of this ridiculous storyline.
Get Andy off of V and mix up more of the vets and the leads like you did in season 1.
No more new characters!!!!! Develop better storylines for the characters you have.

Eric never kills Claudine in the books…nice try

I really hate this series now, it used to be good - I loved the first series now it's just stupid.

  5. 5

yeah, wtf is going on with that weird ass doll…………whoever that baby is (or babies), he (they) are absolutely adorable!

agree with comment 1 - unless Ball goes somewhere really good with these evil/weird fairies, I'm not liking what he's done with them. they remind me more of what the demons would be……….

    Jumped The Shark

This season is justs so bad, bad, bad and not even ASkars can save it. The jump in time is silly, the special effects and Ball version of the faery storyline is laughable, and the dialogue is awful.

Totally agree with @Cha_Cha_the famous. Tommy is pointless. Even though the Jason storyline exists in the books, the HBO version isn't doing it any justice. Turning Andy into a junkie is just lazy.

  8. 8

I'm so glad I haven't read the books yet. I'm completely oblivious to how things are supposed to play out so I can just enjoy and be surprised! I freaking looooove what happened to Eric omg!!!

  9. 9

i think the fairy godmother could have deep good and devastating influences in Sookies life, which could only make the story better. the director is trying a stupid excuse now cause the public made him realize he's made a huge mistake!

  10. 10

…and what is the "major spoiler" here?
i can't seem to find it. the development of the love interest?
gee, now that is the first time in the history of tv shows that two people you normally wouldn't picture as much as shaking hands together start something up. exciting, exciting.

but seriously, what is the spoiler supposed to be?

  11. 11

Apparently, you haven't read the books Perez. That might be a good idea, rather than giving false info. Eric NEVER feeds off of Claudine in the books!

LOVED IT! no one else on these comments actually answered PEREZ'S question about this weeks episode…they just want to criticize everything PEREZ says on here…what a bunch of HATERZ! FIND SOMETHING TO DO. LOSERS. i love true blood. and PEREZ

  13. 13

I love the show…but was so pissed that Alcide is back with that skank Debbie. I'm sure her good girl act wont last long. She is white trash and Alcide…hmmmm by far the hottest guy on the show, though Eric is a close second.

    Re: Coqi

Exactly! Was very disappointed with the season opener, and thought 'Shark!'. And now Eric is mean rather than vulnerable and lost, and the faeries were all evil: terrible.
Couldn't they have figured out they were 0-3 before broadcast, then re-write?
At least dark Bill is interesting, and will keep me watching . . . for now . . .

I now only watch it to see ASkars… otherwise I would have dropped it this season. I dont like the story lines they're coming up with.

You can't expect this show to be exactly written like the books and I do like some of the changes Alan made. I think everything is playing out well and interesting so far. I was suprised to see Claudine die, but I look forward to seeing how Alan proceeds with it all.

  17. 17

Can't wait for Eric and Sookeh to bang in the shower,,,its gonna be hot!

What happens to all those stories with Claudine from the books now????

  19. 19

oooh im so anxious for the mext episode! wth is up with the doll that jessica gave to arlene's baby? whats gonna happen to jason? i kinda wanna see sookie and eric together :) whoop whoop too excited!

  20. 20

Re: wkenenrly – thank you, this bothered me too

  21. 21

I'm in the process of reading all the books (on book 6) and while I find some of the changes they make on the show fine, so far I'm not really loving the faires or witches changes. I really find the Jesus/Layfatte/Tara involvement annoying. Kinda wish they suck closer to the books on this one.
