Kal Penn: Bye Bye White House, Hello Hollywood…Again

Kal Penn White House Hollywood

Looks like someone got fed up with politics.

Kal Penn, best known for his work in the Harold & Kumar franchise, quit acting to focus more on his government interests.

He accepted the role as Associate Director in the White House Office of Public Engagement in 2009.

But, like a lot of guys in politics, he's flip-flopped right back into acting.

Kal will be the newest actor to star in the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, as a love interest for Robin.

The show's co-creator, Craig Thomas, told reporters:

Robin didn't do a hell of a lot of dating at all [last season]. She was more [immersed in] switching careers.

So fans of the show can probably bet on a lot of making-out for Robin.

How I Met Your Mother comes back September 19!

Seriously Perez? This is old news. Try posting something the other entertainment sites haven't posted days ago you lazy idiot!

He's quit temporarily to go back to acting before now, then he goes back to the same position. I think its just something he's allowed to do sometimes depending on his work schedule.

Well, this is OLD news. Too busy partying in Australia, I guess.
Anyway, who didn't see this coming.
I knew he would come back to acting. Obama was nice and shiny in the beginning, but the luster has come off and the reality of politics was too much for a nice kid like Kal.
    .
Glad he's back. Leave politics to the politicians, Kal.

Im king of getting annoyed by people' s comments of how old news are. well, that's the first time I hear about it. some people actually have a life and do not spend all of their time on Internet reading all the celebrity news the first second they appear online.
