Paris Hilton's Younger Brother Ordered To Pay $4.9 Million In DUI Crash

You might think that's pretty steep, but we guarantee this kid will NEVER get behind the wheel drunk again!
Paris Hilton's younger brother Barron was sued by Fernando Telleza, a gas station attendant at a station on Pacific Coast Highway, for running him over with his car while he was drunk. At the time of the accident in 2008, Barron was not only drunk, but he was underage! Tellez's attorney claims his client has suffered "permanent disability" and has been forced to "undergo multiple surgeries and medical procedures" ever since.
As of this week, an L.A. County Superior Court jury found him guilty of the charges and he was thus order to pay $4.9 million in damages.
His attorney felt the jury was "wrong" and said so in an official statement to the press. He added that Barron has been "incredibly responsible ever since" and has proven he has grown as a person.
Just because you've learned from your mistakes doesn't mean you don't have to pay for making them. If this is the punishment your peers felt you deserved, so be it.

Casey Anthony Released From Jail!

he's cute lol
Well, this certainly explains why his parents, Rick & Kathy Hilton, took a $10 million equity line out of their Bel Air mansion in June. The couple's financial documents were filed at the L.A. County Recorder's Office, which show both Rick and Kathy were approved for the credit line, and whatever they borrow against the $10M must be repaid in full by 2021. Obviously, they were preparing to take care of yet another irresponsible child they raised.
This is the third generation of spoilt rich kids who have had no direction in their lives. These rich families could learn a few things from the British royals whose offspring are expected to get good educations, serve their country, and have some self control.
why bother just throw the money at them to make them shutup. 4.9 is like pocket change to them. he is a hilton after all.
You run someone over and say, "oopps…sorry I learned from my mistake". Um no! Be ready to pay the consequences and don't act stupid when the jury finds you guilty. Just because money can buy you the best attorneys, doesn't mean you're going to get off easily. Might be pocket change but it's another embarrassment to the Hilton family.
I'm sure they'll make a reality show out of it but first HIS sex tape will come out showing 4 dicks in his mouth………..btw, what the hell is up with that ridiculous name? Barron? How fucking stupid!
Re: GayRay – He was named after his grandfather (William Barron Hilton, Jr) and his great grandfather (William Barron Hilton, Sr). Both men went by the name "Barron".
That's too much. Sorry. That kid got royally fu*ked on that deal. I mean, I know that the courts sometimes do bail and fines based on your income (SOMETIMES, not always), but this situation is just gross. I understand 1 million, or even 1.5 million, but not almost five, even if it is just a civil case. But the main reason I think it's unfair is because it's not even his money, it's his FAMILY'S money!! You shouldn't give someone a fine based on how much their family is worth! But no matter how much money they have, that's still too high of a price for that fee.
Re: PlayingTheAngel – Maybe it is the wrong kind of punishment. Money means very little to these rich kids. I wish they would try sentencing him to a couple of years of military service instead. He might actually learn something.
Re: PlayingTheAngel – I think you're overlooking a critical point in the settlement. The settlement wasn't based on what the Hilton's can afford, it was based on what the victim experienced and will experience for the rest of his life. He's already had multiple surgeries, and will require more. He will need ongoing physiotherapy and based on other news reports, this young man can no longer work (he was saving to go to school, which he can no longer do). This judgment also considers his future medical needs, his severely diminished ability to earn a living for the rest of his life, loss of quality of life, etc. I'm assuming you're a healthy, intelligent, independent person. How much money would it take for you to give that up and spend the rest of your life in a wheelchair, unable to think/speak coherently, give up your dreams of a family, career and be dependent for the rest of your life? Would $1M be enough? How about 2? 10? Remember to factor in the medical costs you'll need for the rest of your life.
Sad to think that the "Hilton" name actually meant something back in th day…Now it just means punk great grandsons (and daughters) like this one who has no ambition or motivation…Just living in the glory of the Hilton name (and money, having trouble with the law….His ancestors would be so proud….Just another example how many of the young have an entitled attitude…sad.
Re: sanfran1 – 100% agree
Baron Hilton is a true American hero shame on the media and you perez for slandering his name.
what if he wasn't rich? Who would pay that amount of money to a gas station employee? The guy is taking advantage… do you really need 4.9 m? come on!
Re: Alexandre26 – So you're saying that because he works as a gas station attendant, his life is worth less than someone who's middle class or wealthy? Great values you have.
He got off cheap.
Crikes, this WHOLE effing family is worthless, aren't they?
Does this family just have something against driving sober? Come on Hiltons, try it some time. It's nice to be coherent behind the wheel every now and then. I guess Nicky Hilton is the only one who seems to have her shit together, so when the time comes, she will be getting the keys to the castle.
Re: rosebud99 – Re: rosebud99 – Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahah…the Hiltons tend to breed shiftless layabouts but your comments regarding the Brits Better than you have me chuckling….hahaha
$4.9 million is ridiculous.
I assume he will appeal.
If that guy makes $500,000 his entire life I would be amazed.
Re: GayRay –
Barron was his Grandfather's name..you know the one who was married to Zsa Zsa Gabor.
Nicky was also Rick's uncle's name just like Paris's sister.
Nicky was married to Elizabeth Taylor.
$4.9m is a little excessive. This dreadful "compensation culture" is even alive and prospering in Britain I'm sad to report.
