Grey's Anatomy Star Eric Dane Checks Into Rehab

| Filed under: Baby BlabberEric DaneRehab

Shame. Then again, with a new baby on the way, we applaud him for seeking the help he needs to be a better man for his family.

Eric Dane has checked into a Los Angeles rehab clinic according to his spokesperson. The Grey's Anatomy star is in the middle of a 30-day stint, which his spokesperson insists will not conflict with his responsibilities to the show. His rep told Star Magazine:

“Eric Dane voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus. He reports back to work next week. Business as usual.”

The important thing is he is getting help. The show can do without him for awhile if need be, but his wife and kids deserve to have a healthy papa.

We're proud of you for taking such a difficult but necessary step and we wish you a lot of luck!

Get better soon!

Good for him! Didn't need some bad publicity for him to get help for himself.

Painkillers? is that what they are calling it now? ha

This explains his drastic change in appearance in the last year.

    I heard he caught, "Tunatitus".

Re: crimson23 – You'd be surprised. Painkillers are EVERYWHERE now, both prescription and from the streets. Back in the 90's, American methadone clinics mainly consisted of heroin addicts. Although there are still plenty of dope addicts in them, they're mainly filled up with people that have painkiller addictions. And the thing about it is that a lot of people get addicted on accident. We may not know Mr. Dane's specific case, but he easil could have gotten addicted accidentally from the sports injury Perez mentioned. And it's all types of people that get addicted to them, too, not just your average "junkie". So even though he may have gotten addicted because he took them to get fu*ked up, he very well may not have had it come to him on purpose. So we should all wait til more information's out before we judge him too much.

Good for him but it really is suspicious when your rep has to announce you are going to rehab. If you honestly need to go to rehab, just disappear and get yourself some help.

I can't stand this douche or his skanky wife after watching their video romp.
It was coke, in the video and i'm sure it's still coke. Perhaps the wife was on coke when she killed someone with her car.
People this this don't deserve kids.

He and his wife both have a history of other things. Don't be so gullible. Remember the threeway video?

Re: yeaman – Right. He started in June, no announcement. They made an announcement now because of the Star article.

Re: crimson23 – You are right. I heard this story this morning on the radio and totally forgot it. I guess I am just judgmental because most celebrities (Brooke Mueller for one) jump in and out of rehab like it is a vacation. Anyways, I wish him the best, it would be terrible if he destroyed his life.

Duh he was smoking meth with Rebecca Gayheart again

Some of the prescription pain killers can be insidiously addictive. Good for him for getting help. This problem creeps up on a lot of innocent people who were initially just looking for some temporary pain relief. Living clean is the best way to go through life.

if he has any kind of addictoin issue then his doctor was negligent giving him narcotics for pain
