Michael Jackson's Doctor Wants Jury Sequestered

Jackson Doctor Wants Jury Sequester

The defense for the doctor who is about to go on trial for an involuntary part in Michael Jackson's death wants the jury to be sequestered so they can avoid being swayed by pundits.

Pundits like Nancy Grace!

Attorney J. Michael Flanagan said the televised, involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray could be prejudiced by "final arguments" being delivered daily on TV by Grace and other commentators.

"How many final arguments will we have to hear in this case?" Flanagan asked.

At a pretrial hearing, the lawyer referred to "the recent case in Florida" and told the judge Murray's trial was expected to get even wider coverage. He said telling jurors not to watch TV would be insufficient.

The outcome to the Casey Anthony trial has put a really hard position upon the defense in this case. The problem is that the court doesn't have the money to put the jurors in a hotel, so the judge is just going to coach them to ignore media coverage, and sequester them during the day.

Meaning they'll have to eat all their meals together and can't wander around outside.

We can understand how the defense would be bothered by this stuff, but, it really seems unfair to us. Sure, they're doing their civic duty, but censoring everything from them feels like a little much!

What do U think? Should they be sequestered?

If he gets a Casey Anothony-like jury, he'll be a free man shortly. That jury proved that no amount of evidence can convict you. The important thing is to keep the deliberation to a minimum so you can go home ASAP.

It doesn't matter. The Casey Anthony just set the jury brain bar so low that the system is irretrievably broken. They opened the gates for vigilante justice. You'd think a jury would have to pass an I.Q. test and have at least 75 points. They did not. Collectively.
