She's really sticking to some similar subject matter these days, isn't she?

Cynthia Nixon is currently appearing as a recurring guest-star on Laura Linney's Showtime series, The Big C, but she'll be the one battling cancer in the upcoming Broadway premiere of Margaret Edson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Wit, in January of 2012!

Focusing on a poetry professor with cancer, the play is described as "exquisitely written, affecting and often humorous, Wit follows a brilliant and exacting poetry professor (Nixon) as she undergoes experimental treatment for cancer. A scholar who devoted her life to academia, she must now face the irony and injustice of becoming the subject of research."

Wow.

We don't even need to speculate - we just KNOW she is going to be absolutely brilliant in this role!

So great to see her moving past her Sex & The City character and really challenging herself with different characters!

We can't wait to see this!

Oh my god, she looks absolutely ANCIENT in this picture!!! WHAT HAPPENED?!?! First Kim Cattrall's face looked like it was caked on in SATC 2 and now Cynthia Nixon looks like a granny, make it stop!

The We Can’t Stop singer interviewed with Rolling Stone magazine for their July 4th issue, and revealed her fairly liberal thoughts on drugs and alcohol.

Given her stoner reputation, we’re not totally surprised. Though, when asked to clarify her penchant for weed, she said:

"You can't ask someone that and expect them to say yes... I did a song with Snoop Dogg called 'Ashtrays and Heartbreaks,' so people can put it together for themselves."

That sounds fairly straightforward to us. Mileybird then went ahead to state that she thinks there are things much, much worse than a little bit of the green stuff:

"I think alcohol is way more dangerous than marijuana -- people can be mad at me for saying that, but I don't care... I've seen a lot of people spiral down with alcohol, but I've never seen that happen with weed."

She added:

"As long as it isn't illegal, there are far more dangerous things. And it's legal in the state of California. So I'm happy to live in California, a place where you can be whoever you want to be."

Well, Miley, marijuana isn’t exactly legal in California unless you have a prescription, so we’re not entirely sure what you mean. But, okay...

As for her transition from Disney teen idol to mature pop star, she said:
