Horrific Beyond Words! Ghana's Western Regional Minister Orders Arrest Of ALL Gays

| Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikSad SadLGBT

Words cannot properly describe how awful and disturbing this!

According to a new report, the Western Regional Minister of Ghana Paul Evans Aidoo MP has ordered the arrest of all gays in the country.

Here's what he said about his sickening decision:

"All efforts are being made to get rid of these people in the society."

Aidoo has put Ghana's Bureau of National Investigations and other security forces to the task, and he's even called on all landlords and tenants to "inform on people they suspect of being homosexuals."

This is absolutely horrendous! There truly aren't strong enough words to express how horrified we are by this.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the gays in Ghana right now, as well as their families, friends, and loved ones.

this is the shit the us needs to be involved in, basic human rights are being ignored by these african leader it makes me sick africa will never fucking get it together my heart goes out to all those women men and children who are starving…why do we continue to waste money on these so called celebs when one of those millions can feed thousands? this world is so fucked up i hope it ends we are just too fucked up a species i try to play the rice game to help and donate for free but im not sure that even helps all the time.

  2. 2

Disgusting who do they think they are arresting them? That's horrible so glad I live in California d:

  3. 3

well it is there religion and culture and homosexuals should repect that by not going there and flaunting there homosexuality. im not against gays but i think everyone has a right to there beilefs and its very hard for people who strongly beileve that homosexuality is wrong to have them parading around being openly gay. it offends there religion. strait people dont flaunt that there strait. your sexuality is a personal and private thing and it should be kept at home in private. no one should flaunt themselves the way most gays do . it offends people. if everyone kept there sexuality private like they should then i bet this wouldnt be happening.

  5. 5

No-one should be forced against their religion, but no-one should be forced against themselves because of someone else's religion.
I don't get why people are so against gays? It's not like they're doing anything wrong, except loving a bit differently to most people.
And I think gays only flaunt their homosexuality because other people look down on it.

  6. 6

Have they lost their minds? This is terrible.

If he says 'to arrest them', and 'that all efforts are being made to get rid of these people',
what happens to them after they're arrested? That might be your 'horrific beyond words.'

  8. 8

well, i don't support same sex marriage..but I think the idea to arrest of all gays is really stupid.

  9. 9

    Re: T.E.A.M.J.O.L.I.E
And their stupid religion offends me, so what's your point? Gays "has a right to there beilefs" too you know.

  10. 10

When you get into peoples' faces with an agenda and push hard enough…you will likely get pushed back.

  11. 11

Maybe you can show your support by sending them It Gets Better t-shirts.

  12. 12

You should of stopped there on your way back from Australia and held a demonstration.
This is exactly what the Christian Ministry to Africa has wrought.

  13. 13

    Re: T.E.A.M.J.O.L.I.E

Are you nuts? Straights don't flaunt their sexuality? Get a grip, of course you have and indeed it is offensive. Haven't you ever seen these straights out in public holding hands? WTF do you think that is? Ya see em cuddlin up in parks and hugging and little kissies.
Haven't you ever seen straights stealing kisses or making out in public? These straight folks with their kids showing off they can fuck and reproduce? You aren't very observant it seems. Just the other day a young couple walked by my house, arms around each other, just walkin and flauntin everything. You sick fuck.

  14. 14

I wonder what the Kardashians think about this?

Re: rickraton – Don't worry about Team Jolie, it's pretty obvious they are so uneducated that they don't understand what they are even talking about. I was so distracted by their improper grammar and poor uses of there/their and your/you're that I couldn't even focus on the crap they were babbling.

  16. 16

Re: rickraton – thats not flaunting. everybody should be allowed to hold hands and kiss in public including gays. but do strait people hold parades and "shout where here, where queer" and all the other slogans they have. if people kept to themselves and stopped trying to push there agendas on other people then this mess would have never happened. this ghana guy obviously felt threatened. Re: auds – and when you type comments on a gossip website do you go back and spell and grammar check everything? come up with a better argument. i hate it when people get so shitty about bad grammar and spelling on a gossip website. Re: elica123 – are you saying that homosexuality is a belief? um ok?

  17. 17

I don't approve of what's going on in Ghana. Arresting people for being gay is like arresting someone for being white or black or Asian; homosexuality is no more a choice than race. I do feel compelled though to point out that our standards aren't the standards of others. Take the fact that women in Saudi Arabia aren't allowed to drive and are actively discriminated against in other areas. Is that right to us? No. But it's the norm for them. I realize that arresting gays is far more serious, but my point is that we look at things from within the context of our norm. So of course many of us will strongly disagree with what's going on in Ghana. But if you'd been raised there, you would probably see it an entirely different way.
Perez, this is a celebrity site, not a gay agenda site. I know you put this crap here because if you created a gay agenda site, no one would visit it. But you're not changing minds here, you're not creating activism here, and you're not gaining any respect. It's long past time for you to get a clue.

  18. 18

    Re: T.E.A.M.J.O.L.I.E
I am sure that is what the minister told you when he had his hand up your skirt.

  19. 19

"Maybe you can show your support by sending them It Gets Better t-shirts." Not funny, yet hilarous.

  20. 20

Re: La Garse – Obviously, Perez values his dog and fashioin more than gay rights. It's the only reason that they have their own site and info on gay rights doesn't.

  21. 21

    Re: La Garse
Yes indeed, were you raised Ghana you would think like this. Right on La FARCE! It is called INDOCTRINATION. Why do you think they shout death to America all over the Arab world? It is brainwashing, teaching intolerance and hate. Of course they see it that way in Ghana. If they did not see it that way they would be DEAD! If you do not believe all peoples of the world have a right to be, as they are, as God made them you are beyond redemption as a human.

  22. 22

Re: rickraton – being rude is really going to make you go far. i know a lot of people (myself and two gay friends or mine included) who think that gay parades are offensive . they make you feel bad for being strait and my gay friends actually feel embarrassed by those displays . i accept eveyone and i think people should just keep to themselves and be more aware of others around them.

  23. 23

Re: LaughingOutLoud1 – You know what? That hadn't occurred to me, and it's something I should have noticed. Thanks for pointing it out. :D

  24. 24

    Re: T.E.A.M.J.O.L.I.E
Perhaps if they did not live lives in suppression they would do otherwise. I think it is disgusting that women display their breasts everywhere. You go to the mall and there is a 13 year old girl with her little boobs sticking out, parading her sexuality. She has no value for herself, the straight culture defines her value as sexual. You have Rihanna out there showing little girls how to show off the cooze, spreading your legs and humping the air with her thigh squeezes.
In the Arab world the cut the genitals from youn girls to deny them sexual pleasure. They stone women to death and murder their own daughters for what they regard as transgressions. OH MY, it is OK cause that is their culture!
Calling someone rude is the tactic of those who have NOTHING. You do not deserve courtesy.

  25. 25

I don't like gay parades either and ya know what? I don't go to them. You don't have to go either. How can you be offended by something if you don't watch? I live near a strip bar and the girls stand outside half dressed, give blow jobs in the parking lot flaunting their sexuality. Young girls think a man will love her if she puts out. That is what the culture tells her. Shameful indoctrination into subjugating women as objects.

  26. 26

Re: rickraton – You too have been INDOCTRINATED, dipshit. I'm not worried about my redemption status, but I suspect that you should be concerned about yours. I was pointing out a basic sociological premise; that you'd take it so personally and post something so stupid is an indication of your own issues. Some time spent on self-reflection might do you some good; counseling might help as well.

  27. 27

    Re: La Garse
I guess that is alright as long as YOU were not offended. To think "sociological premise" has something to do with anything we are talking. Can't fix stupid.

  28. 28

    Re: La Garse
I guess it is comforting to think that in another CULTURE you would be buried up to your neck in sand. It is just a "sociological premise" after all!

  29. 29

Re: rickraton – im not saying that at all. there are a lot of medievil practices still being done today and i would rather people focus on these problems rather than gay rights. when they cut out a girls genitals they call it curcumcising . its to keep the women pure until marriage and its no different than christians and jews circumsising there boys. all cultures have ugly things about them and things others may not agree with and we have organisatians who work to fix these things. so when i see them trying to fix gay rights and and other things that people have the power to fix themselves instead of genital mutilation, corrective rape and other disgusting things that religious extremists do i get pretty pissed of. because they are extremists. they can have a religion and there beilefs but they shouldnt push it on others or hurt people. and that is the difference between an extremist and an religious person. everyone deserves there beilefs but its when they take it to the next level by doing these things that its wrong.

  30. 30

    Re: T.E.A.M.J.O.L.I.E
To suggest that the religous extremist can have their beliefs as long as they don't force them on others is APPALLING!.
By the way, they cannot practice those beliefs in the USA LEGALLY. In the USA you cannot kill your daughter. It is not OK for young African emigrant boys to rape young girls. Yes it is their culture. Not that long ago in Phoenix 3 young Africans, 11-14 years raped a 9 year old girl cause that is their culture. Know what? It wasn't OK. Another Iraqi man killed his daughter because she was becoming to westernized and he is going to PRISON, he is not allowed to act on those beliefs in the USA. They cut the clitoris from girls and to equate that with a circumcision of the male is not rational.
Muslim women are not going to be allowed to wear their burkhas in Paris because they outlawed it

  31. 31

Re: rickraton – Apparently there's something terribly wrong with your reading comprehension skils. I did say that I was against what's going on in Ghana; perhaps in addition to counseling, you should consider going back to school?
It's a good thing that a narrow-minded morals nazi like you isn't the arbiter of all things right and just. You'd do fine as the model for the Spanish who destroyed cultures in the new world (doing so based on their own cultural conditioning and religious indoctrinations), and who imposed their own systems of right and wrong, via bloodshed and tyranny, without making the effort to understand the whys and hows of the existing society. I think you are an intellectually and morally bankrupt individual, with no concept of the justice of understanding differences. Change comes through understanding and reform, not through blanket moral judgments and blinders like you wear. I'm sorry for you, but don't care enough about you to extend this pointless dialogue with you; you're one of those sorry people who can't be wrong. May life deal more gently with you than you truly deserve.

  32. 32

Re: T.E.A.M.J.O.L.I.E – You have the right of it; there is ugliness in all cultures, including our own. Trying to deflect them through focus on what one considers a bigger sin or crime elsewhere doesn't make our own issues vanish and it doesn't make our own evils less evil. But some people don't understand this, and those who fall into that category would impose their own morals by force because the delude themselves that it's the morally right thing to do. It's not; it's just another form of tyranny, and that kind of tyranny in the name of moral goodness is more evil than most other evils. What's going on in Ghana should stop; it's wrong by my moral compass and my cultural conditioning.

  33. 33

    Re: La Garse
    well said

  34. 34

    Re: La Garse
And I am "morally bankrupt" too? I am a "morals nazi"? Huh? Yikes! Explain how a morally bankrupt person be a morals nazi? And you want me to get an education? OK

  35. 35

    Re: rickraton
Imposing our morals on others is the American way. We do not allow murder, stealing, rape, fraud, lying to congress, enslavement of children and the like. I didn't think that was wrong. Perhaps when I get my education I will know better. Thanks for the encouragement! I only have two Master's Degrees.

  36. 36

SO what is the UN going to do?

  37. 37

words can't even explain. right now i'm like totally ashamed to be half Ghanian. this is soo wrong, idk why they just can't let people be who they are without slapping traditional values in their face. this is the 21rst century, people need to get over themselves.

  38. 38

This is horrible and on thew same note, I am so sick and tired of hearing straight people support or not support gay marriage, if your not gay S.T.F.U and stop trying to tell me how to live my life!!

  39. 39

Re: T.E.A.M.J.O.L.I.E – learn the difference between "their" and "there" idiot

  40. 40

Hey, let's arrest all the immigrants from Ghana! And maybe while we're at it we can stop sending money and food to Africa.

  41. 41

This is horrible. This is something that our military should be fighting against. Hopefully help will be sent and it will not happen.

  42. 42

sad part is, they even arrest boys that they assume are gay.

  43. 43

This is so sad that they are going to spend money and time jailing homosexual people but they can't get a grip on arresting/jailing people who kill/rebels/ people who violate human rights in horrible ways. They could spend their time and money doing more important things but instead they choose something easy and conniving. This gets him support of the people and that's all that matters to him, not basic human rights… this kind of stuff sickens me; religious beliefs or not it's not right to arrest people because of their sexual preference…

  44. 44

Re: likethepear – agree, seriously, if we are sending money for them to do this, than we're supporting their actions, we should stop in name of human rights

  45. 45

Re: T.E.A.M.J.O.L.I.E – These people aren't even flaunting themselves, who would want to flaunt themselves if it get's them in trouble. They arrest anyone "Suspected" of being homosexual.
If those people can keep their "religious rights" than those homosexuals deserve their basic human rights, and arresting someone based on that is violation of the very right we were born with.
religion is just an excuse for them to violate others rights in "name of GOD", religious people are supposed to love each other like they would themselves, so if they are going to send people to jail than they deserve the same for going agaist what GOD teaches, God is LOVE, COMPASSION, you don't have to agree with the person, but you sure hell don't have the right to send those people to JAIL!!!!!!!!
it's wasn't their choice to be born homosexual, GOD made those people that way, sure some people are "leared" homosexuals but most are NOT.

  46. 46

Re: T.E.A.M.J.O.L.I.E – Gays have the right to be proud and parade, that's their right, you don't have to like it but you accept because that's your basic human right. I don't particuarly like them parading around all the time, but who the FUCK cares? I am sure there is million things they could hate about you, but they don't go around and take your RIGHS away

  47. 47

Re: NookiesWA – people like you sicken me, I wish you were born into their position just to understand the struggles they face and see how fucked up it is to take anyones rights away…hope you see the light one day you hater

  48. 48

Re: rickraton – These morals aren't just the "American ways", this is basic human morals, every person is entitled to equal rights, and the only way to live right is to install those rights/morals in our society…those other countries haven't had the opportunity to change in that way, we were once a very strict and close minded country ourselves, if they do this in name of "god" than they're no godly or religious people, they're doing opposite of what god asked and that is to love one another

  49. 49

Re: rickraton – ooo I like what you got to say, so well put

  50. 50

Re: rickraton – la garse has it right. in no way did i say those things were ok. i said that everyone has a right to there own beileifs and culture but when extremists pervert there religion and kill or rape or do other horrible things in the name of there religion that is wrong. either you dont know the difference between a religious person and a religious extremist or you just misinterperate things . read stuff through twice and think about it then maybe you will get it. its the same with americans beileveing all muslims are terrorists. there are ones who are peaceful and follow there religion without forcing it on others(the majority) and then there are ones who claim that the koran says to kill all infidels(which it dosent) and they go around blowing people up . there are extremists in everything and if you cant tell the difference you are going to have a really hard time in life when you do finally grow up.

  51. 51

Re: StazzyBoo – and homosexuals do flaunt themselves. but again not all gays do only the extremists. i have two gay friends who are embarrassed by the way the gay rights activists flaunt themselves and push there beilefs in others faces. they think that they give them a bad name. maybe women should do a womens pride parade and flaunt there breasts in public . oh no wait thats illegal. gays have rights and maybe if they were professional and reserved and dealt with it in a civilised manner then they would actually get somewhere.Re: magazyn7 – learn the difference between a gossip website and a spelling bee idiot. i dont care if my grammar is of because i dont actually proof read what i type on a gossip website. as long as my message gets across.

  52. 52

This is a mess. Why doesn't the good ole US of A step in like they do with everything else with the guise of creating democracy across the world. I bet if oil was involved we would be on it like white on rice.

  53. 53

The pope in the Vatican needs to accept homosexuals this way bum holes cannot say what they are doing is in the name of Christianity and it may make a lot of people think twice.

Re: La Garse – Well said! I was going to say something similar. Most eastern countries consider the United States to be "out of the norm". While we may not see it because most of us have been brought up here, middle eastern countries and countries such as Africa consider this issue to be bad. They look at us crazy and vice versa…
