Vanilla Ice Compares Bieber's Career To His!

Vanilla Ice Justin Bieber Career Comparison

In a recent interview, Vanilla Ice compares Justin Bieber's career to his own!

Vanilla Ice suffered a large fall from fame, and he thinks Bieber will too, saying:

My prediction about Bieber is that he’s going to go through one of those weekends that lasts a few years because he’s had such success as a child act. You know, then something else new will come along and he’ll be forgotten and he can try to put all the pieces back together, so it’s going to be entertaining to watch.

Um, we don't mean to criticize your own career, Vanilla Ice, but we're pretty sure Justin isn't going to wander away from the limelight quite the same as you did.

The guy has dangerous mobs of fans, a number of hits, and great connections and relationships within the biz.

Not to mention his rise to fame is in a completely different generation. With the internet being as prominent as it is, we feel like that helps keep new stars in the loop of their fans and vice versa.

What do U think of his comment?

I fully agree….I mean look at the Jonas Brothers. pushed aside by Bieber…and someone else will do the same to him.

  2. 2

Oh, I've already predicted this. VH1's Where Are They Now?

  3. 3

Bieber reminds me of Lief Garrett. It will be no surprise if he follows the same path.

  4. 4

I'm really not a Bieber fan (at all) but I'm sure he has a few more years in him and then he may start to struggle. And by stuggle I do NOT mean with drugs or anything. I mean with success. In this business you have to beable to reinvent yourself all the time and I just don't think he has that ability. At this point he has made enough money to never work again, so that is a good thing.

  5. 5

    Extreme over marketing.

  6. 6

Of course it will happen. When your fan base is borderline retarded (tweens) it'll happen. He's just a fad. We have seen this time and time and time and time again. But no one ever says anything..Society is so fickle its sad. As Americans we love making talentless annoying twats rich and famous..hell you can even kill your daughter and get a couple million bucks as long as it becomes a nationwide story. In a few years time he'll be gone..another annoying prepubescent kid will knock him aside, we'll make him rich, cocky and arrogant then he will fade away as well.

  7. 7

Wake up Perez — it will happen The little girls that now just "want to die" for him will grow up –he'll get older, and that will be that. He's way overblown anyway.

  8. 8

  9. 9

    Here today, Aaron Carter tomorrrow!

  10. 10

i agree with je veux te voir. what happened to the jonas brothers anyway? a few years ago before justin bieber (if you can even remember a time) they were HUGE girls were going crazy over them, they had mobs of fans just like justin bieber has now. that's what happens with pop music. you're a hit for a few years and then the next big thing comes along and no one cares anymore. this is mostly because fans of bubblegum pop are also preteen girls who then grow up and their music taste matures. basically, justin will have a few more years on top and then he'll fade out of the limelight. connections in the industry really has nothing to do with it. his fan base will grow up, and that will be that.

  11. 11

His mobs of fans are gonna grow up and realized how awful he is. And the next generation will be obsessed with someone else. Like someone else said he doesn't really seem to have the ability to reinvent himself

  12. 12

That Is true the only one that has actually made it this far is justin timberlake but the rest…Selena stick to your bf in hard times don't leave him.

  13. 13

This is not really shocking, it happens to 80% of celebrities!

  14. 14

hasn't his 15 minutes of fame expired. pLEASE DO THE WORLD A FAVOR GO AWAY/.

  15. 15

I'm sure it will happen. It CAN happen to anyone, but Bieber..is a really special case. Because he will grow up…….and these girls will grow up. He's either going to have to change his routine, or face a problem. I don't think parents will want 13 year old girls swooning over a 30 year old….get my point? And yes…JONAS BROTHERS!!! who are they? it's that point…

  16. 16

    He is 100% correct.

New Kids on the Block, Backstreet Boys, NSync and the list goes on and on.
Like they say in the song Rock Superstar, save your money, save your money….

  17. 17

As ridiculous as Vanilla Ice can be, it's totally possible that Justin Bieber could disappear into obscurity within the next few years. It feels like Hilary Duff was replaced by Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana. Now, Miley seems to be on her way out of the limelight. Justin Bieber became the new Jonas Brothers. There's a good chance that those ADD tweens and teens (and immature adults, like Perez) will get tired of him pretty quickly. The 2 things that could save him are his very extroverted, flirtatious/playful personality and the fact that Usher has taken him under his wing and introduced him to some established musicians. Considering the company he keeps, though, I'm not sure how well he'd be able to transition from his innocent kiddie pop to the hyper-sexual male R&B/hip-hop world. If he loves Usher, Ludacris, and Kanye West so much, I can't imagine it'll be long before he starts singing in detail about sex. NSYNC was very cookie-cutter, but there was still a slightly-adult/sexual undercurrent to their music. I think that made the jump easier for Justin Timberlake.

  18. 18

    already happening

  19. 19

I totally agree Perez ur indenial honestly…all JB's fans last obsession wuz the Jonas Brothers and then Justin Bieber came and they jumped to him..so Yeah a new annoying brat will come and replace him I just hope he wont be all up in our faces like JB >.

I can only hope that he's right. I can't stand that little turd!

  21. 21

I think Justin Bieber knows that too.
Maybe that is why he is making so much moolah off nail polish, movies, and perfume.

  22. 22

He is absolutely right, Just look at all the acts that you can compare to Justin Bieber's (New Kids On the Block, Hanson, Vaniila Ice, MC Hammer, ect… Vanilla Ice isn't the only one to go down that path and definitely not the last.

  23. 23

I think Beiber is a mini prick, but this is a moronic comparison. First off, Vanilla Ice is a white rapper from the 90's with one hit, and Beiber is a pop star, the music is totally different, unless I'm mistaken.

Secondly, as as I know, Beiber isn't a drug addict like he was.

This guy just wants people to talk about him.

  24. 24

Once the prepubescent girls stop finger-banging their hairless twats they will realize this turd is a lesbo and turn their backs on him.

  25. 25

He will turn out JUST like the Jonas Brothers, and Aaron Carter. That's what happens. Thank god. He's a horrible singer, and from what I can tell he is quite the dbag.

  26. 26

Awww he's already throwing out occult signs.

  27. 27

Bieber is bigger then ice ever was. But his career will still fall at some point and he will no longer be a 'super star.' The jonas brothers thought that they where this generations Rolling Stones and now they are pretty much done as far as being super stars go. But I am not worried if invested right he never has to worry about money and in 15 years he can always do a reunion tour tour like the nkob and bsb

  28. 28

we can only hope this will happen.

  29. 29

I completely agree… Justin has gone so far up, he has no where to go, but down… I predict within 3 yrs he will be all be faded completely away… but the money he is making now, should carry him for awhile… ;)

  30. 30

I would compare him to Rachel Maddow….OMG they're identical twins! He's just slightly more of a lady!

  31. 31

thats why he dosnt buy jeans or sneakers LOL he always wear the same black jeans and the same black/pink sneakers he is saving money people! LMAO

  32. 32

Re: je veux te voir – EXACTLY! As soon as another "cute" singer comes along, all the throngs of fans Perez talks about will wash away in an instant. Just like Vanilla…

  33. 33

For the love of God, please let Ice be right (and sooner than later!)

  34. 34

I sure hope that Vanilla Ice is right! PLEASE GOD.

  35. 35

One more thing - the only example I can think of a kid making it big young and being able to translate that into adulthood was Michael Jackson. Now THAT's true stardom.

  36. 36

Not that his teen-star deal won't fade, but um… I'm pretty sure he's not going to be outed as a fake gangsta from ha 'burbs who samples Queen and claims its his own work. Sorry Robbie Van Winkle

  37. 37

    I can't wait till he's on Celebrity Rehab before he's 20

  38. 38

im not gunna lie when i read the story of justin bieber wanting to collaborate with lil wayne i thought aww dam another white rapper coming to take vanilla ices place hahaha only one white rapper that will be acceptable:EMINEM

  39. 39

his fame is already fading his girlfriend selena gomez fame is over shadowing him already. selena gomez is incredibale very succesful right now. and justin bieber hasn't been doing anything for a while he working on a new album but he doesn't seem to be talking nothing of it at all. in order to stay popular you need to reinvent yourself the only known pop singers who stayed famosue from teen to adultohood was just michael jackson and justin timberlake. I don't think justin bieber has the ability to reinvent himself.

  40. 40

Mr. Ice did not "wander away from the limelight", all the hype and over promotion killed his career as is what's happening right now to Biebs. As Ice is embarassed by "Ice Ice Baby" now, so will he be by "Baby", as it should be. Oh just think, in ten years Biebs and the Jonas brothers can do one of those lameass NKOTBSB tours together.

  41. 41

    he's right though

  42. 42

    justin who?

  43. 43

I actually have high hopes for Justin Bieber. He has a lot of talent, and I think he realizes that he can't do what he's doing forever. I think he's going to mature with his audience and be fine.

  44. 44

    Wow that sounded bad !

  45. 45

There is nothing wrong with what he said. It happens all the time. When artists are so young it is hard to maintain that same level of fame forever. I think the use of the internet in todays time actually helps an artist reach a level of fame faster than before but it also can help ruin careers faster than before. If you look at the career of the Jonas Brothers they reached the level of fame of Justin Bieber and that wasn't too long ago, and now they are irrevelant. I think Vanilla Ice is being realistic.

  46. 46

In 1968, Andy Warhol said "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes". In 2011, the internet is a vehicle to that fame. Justin Bieber would have never reached the pinnacle of that fame if it wasn't for the internet… more specifically, youtube. Now, that's sort of wonderful in a way. People with real talent can get famous really quickly. However, that fame also crashes more quickly than ever before, because there is constantly the "next big thing". Justin Bieber will be replaced, as his forerunners were before him. Granted, he is more talented than Vanilla Ice, but so are a lot of people… like my dog. Vanilla Ice does have a point, though. Bieber fans will move on and unless he reinvents himself, he is as good as history.

  47. 47

David Cassidy, Leif Garret, The Osmonds, Rick Springfield, NKOTB, N'Sync… you're right. Absolutely none of them had dangerous mobs of fans, a number of hits, and great connections and relationships within the business. Clearly there's no comparison between Justin Beiber these former teen idols. Ha! For a pop culture junkie, Perez, you're being very dense about this.
