Sources close to Amy Winehouse tell PerezHilton.com exclusively that they believe drugs were not responsible for the singer's untimely death.

Instead, they believe Amy's passing was brought on by a massive seizure.

"The hardcore drugs completely wrecked Amy's nervous system," an insider tells us. "She gave up all that [hardcore drugs] a while ago but she was still drinking heavily, which would bring on seizures."

Amy had been suffering from seizures regularly and despite being warned by doctors kept drinking.

An official autopsy has yet to be completed.

Re: Mario_Sucks.com – youre a massive dick! why would you say somethin like that about someone?! keep that shit to yourself and get the fuck off his site then

So many nasty negative comments on the web
Would people say ("she got what she deserved") if it was a family member of theirs with a substance abuse problem?
I wish I lived in a society where everyone could just respect and love each another
Sites like Perez Hilton are just modern forms of bullying, where we make fun of people because they have a little cellulite or because they wore the wrong outfit
But its defended because its just being snarky
Negativity and hate say much more about the person voicing those ideas than the people that it is directed at
Our culture seems to thrive to build celebrities up only to tear them down
It's one of the reasons I got rid of my TV 5 years ago
In hindsight it's been a great decision

    a poem

So many wings in the skies!
    the skies!
    Petrified
    Passerbys
    Paralyzed
    Lost in you eyes!
    I am not-
    I am not-
    Suprised!
I have cried I have cried I have cried for you
    I am not-
    I am not-
    Suprised!
I have cried until my eyes have turned dry

    I wish I had control
    RIP Mrs. Winehouse

Drugs may not have been what actually killed her last night but they are what caused whatever did kill her, whether her heart gave out or she seized, ect. Very rarely does someone so young just 'drop dead' clearly her addictions were what led to her passing. I heard she'd been clean but the effects stick around. So unfortunate as she was incredibly talented and seemed to have a sweet and loving heart. RIP

Re: Luv2Luv2121 – Congradu-fucking-lations you are only the 5 millionth person to make that stupid joke.

  7. 107

A neighbor who lived above me suffered seizures whenever she drank heavily. She was a heavy drinker. A barfly of sorts. After time she was in and out of the hospital from the injuries she suffered when she went into one of her alcohol induced siezures. She was a complete mess.

  8. 108

Let me get this right, whilst I do feel sorry for the passing of Amy Winehouse,
Lets put this into perspective, she was a very priveleged albeit a somewhat troubled soul,(aren't we all) who chose her lifestyle. those poor souls in Norway did not have a choice, whatsoever. I think I know where my thoughts are at the moment.

  9. 109

Even if it were a seizure that caused her death, was anyone really suprised!!!! by her death! Id be as surprised if lindsey lohan passed away. These "stars" live a wreckless life and as stated above they do not listen to doctors and drink or do drugs despite there health problems! therefore drugs are still a related cause to death. I know your mourning perez, but she was a lost fucking cause….listen to the damn song rehab…i mean really. She had her demons and we all wanted to stop that train before it derailed but it just could not be done. May she rest in peace and may others in similar situations wake the fuck up!

  10. 110

It's so sad that people would be so cold hearted to disrespect such a talent, addiction or not people think that they are immune to addiction, but this disease strikes everyone…rich or poor, famous or not. But all judgment aside a person lost their life, Amy was someone's daughter and people should have more respect for the deceased, not bad mouthing and voicing their ignorant opinions. May she now be at peace.

  11. 111

People die everyday. Bragging about having 'exclusive' information about someones death is sick and twisted in the worst way

  12. 112

why dont you shut the fuck up perez. dont act like you feel sorry for her now shes dead! you were one of the main people that mocked her and teased her when she obviously needed help your cruel and nasty and i hope you feel like shit for dissing her now shes dead! you and the rest of ther media should feel guilty for mocking her it definatly would not have made it any easier for her to clean up her act when horrible people like you are dissing her. maybe instead of judging addicts and people that are obviously lost souls you should have a look at yourself and have some fucking compassion before they actually die!

  13. 113

Re: Genghis Khan – You are exactly right………That almost happened to me…….The doctors said I probably would not make it………As I had major seizures from just trying to stop drinking on my own………Alcoholism is not a game at all,,,,,,,Thanks to what or whoever I do not drink any more,,I can't or I will DIE………Some people are not addicts I am ………

  14. 114

This death was no real surprise. People have speculated on when she would die for the last four years. There's even a spcecial website where people could suggest her death date.
    R.I.P.

  15. 115

Re: supersoup – I think what they meanwhen they say drugs were not responsible for her death was, that she never actually died from an overdose…Which, if you'd led everyone to believe you've given them up, may be some small comfort to her parents..

  16. 116

Re: Geat real – the original name for this site was page666.

  17. 117

Did she have epilepsy? If not, and the seizures were caused by her alcoholism and drug addiction, guess what? Her death was caused by drugs and/or alcohol BUT I understand the "cause of death" on the death certificated could be listed as seizure…heart attack…whatever. Cause of death info can be misleading if not downright incorrect.

So sad, what a waste of talent and life…rest in peace Amy, and condolences to her family and friends.

  18. Ast says – reply to this

    118

That sounds plausible. Just recently I was at a party with a guy who started seizing and he was coming off a 2 month bender doing a lot of drugs that affect his nervous system, but was basically just drinking and doing a bit of amphetamines at that point. He managed to warn us that it was coming so we could react correctly, so he wouldn't snap his neck or bite his tongue off. fricking scary stuff man!

  19. 119

    WELL
    WHO'S NEXT ?????
SO SAD, AND SUCH A WASTE OF GOOD TALENT……
I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE WITH MONEY BLOW THEY'RE BODIES AWAY WITH IT…..

  20. 120

Perez…..if what you say is true than drugs are the reason amy is dead. its always good to clean up but if your not gonna stop drinking heavily ( ALCOHOL IS THE MOST DANGEROUS DRUG THAT EXISTS) than your still addicted and very sick…. she might have been recovering but as much as people would like to believe it wasn't drugs…. it was

  21. 121

Sorry, but if she couldn't function at concerts just months ago and had to cancel them, I'm not believing she was off drugs. No one around her would let her drink that much before a performance. I'm gonna make a guess, that maybe she was on some sort of pills or something and maybe she mixed the wrong ones and it shut her down. Drugs, legal or illegal were most definitely the cause of her death!

  22. 122

    Re: Shaarrn – EXACTLY!

  23. 123

How can you say it wasn't drugs, and then in the next sentence say that the seizure was caused by drugs?

  24. 124

Re: Genghis Khan – Thanks for that imformation. I didn't know that.

  25. 125

So… how is this NOT likely to have been caused by drugs even though in the article, they say that her past drug abuse was the cause of her failed health that probably killed her.
    Uhm…. WTH?

  26. 126

NO! DRUGS WERE RESPONSIBLE! My friend 'lost' her boyfriend a few years ago… he had a heart attack after being sick with flu like symptoms…went into a seizure, then heart attack… After post mortem (AUTOPSY TO YOU MARIO) work up, it was found that his heart was so diseased, ruined, tissues were already dead, FROM YEARS OF DOING DRUGS-COCAINE, etc. and years of ALCOHOLISM…. He had been hospitalized for alcohol poisoning TWICE in previous years and WARNED that it could kill, but his whole family were drinkers and they saw NO PROBLEMS other then their beer bellies expanding (yes, some have cirrhosis now) But it is SO EASY to IGNORE DOCTORS.

  27. 127

It is SO EASY TO IGNORE or NOT HEAR DOCTORS. As a matter of fact, I am a RN, was WORKING at the time on a floor away from others in a small hospital, and they 'DUMPED' (to put to 'nicely) LOUD OUT OF HAND PATIENTS. This hospital, years ago, did not know how to treat Alcohol Withdrawal, wrong place to be. Anyhoo, I was inj. an alcholic, going through DTs, in restraints, he was hallucianting, kicking, cursing, spiting, etc. and she called RIGHT AFTER and told me her BF was admitted to another hospital with the SAME EXACT SYMPTOMS. I told her he was going through alcohol withdrawal. OH NO, he was having an allergic reaction to medication he took at home……. uhm…. what did he take? …. penicillin….. do you know what an allergic reaction LOOKS LIKE?… HIVES? no… BREATHING PROBLEMS? ..no… SWELLING TO THE THROAT? no.. So, why do you think he is in there for an allergic reaction? His family told me… Uhm… Susan, if you want to believe that FINE, but GOOGLE THE SYMPTOMS!… No, they would no lie to me… …. and she was shocked 3 years later to find out HE USED DRUGS. BLINDERS… SAD

  28. 128

Unfortunately for Amy, she had a body that craved drugs, receptors and there were too many enablers or USERS around her… wanted something from HER… probably her money or ins to clubs or ins to clubs and her money… sad… I feel bad for her father he kept trying to get in into rehab, but it did not work…. She did have talent, but….. I feel anyone who offers a musician, someone of talent, who you know has an addiction problem, drugs to get closer to them, should go to hell….. Can't get closer to them legit.. have to offer them hell, one step closer to their death… some CAN NOT SAY NO, no matter what people think.

  29. 129

Perhaps drugs were not the direct cause; i.e. overdose, but they were the underlying cause. Everyone knew her death was inevitable, it was only a question of when. If success in the music world is so hard to handle, then get out. I wish I had it so bad.

  30. 130

I truely don't understand why people have comments on here if they're going to sit here and talk shit. That just makes them look fucking stupid and they need to get lives. Fucking pathetic pieces of shit.

  31. 131

Ok so even if she was drinking and not taking illicit or prescription drugs…alcohol IS a drug. That being said, she died from drugs!!

  32. ONIT says – reply to this

    132

Well, last news: cause of death alcohol and drugs. So far, so bad.

  33. 133

How does anyone know that Amy didnt have seizures BEFORE she was using drugs. Not everyone that has seizures is on drugs or alcohol so I dont know how people can judge and say things with such a cold and uncaring heart for the people that are in mourning at the moment. Health issues are NOT always visible and maybe she had seizures and just didnt let anyone know…….. I am a seizure sufferer myself and have had them all my life but just recently have started to let outsiders know about it….. THINK ABOUT THINGS BEFORE YOU SAY ANYTHING and if you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all thats an old saying that I grew up with and i truely believe it to be HONEST……… IF YOU WANT TO SEE WHAT I HAVE GONE THROUGH AND I DONT DO DRUGS OR DRINK YOU CAN SEE MY STORY OR PART OF IT ANYWAY AT www.thelisapages.com

  34. 134

Special K, Xtacy, Alcohol, Cocaine are what she was on when she dies you stupid fat fuck. This site sucks now and you steal info from other sites try to pass it off as your own and you're an irresponsible bag of shit for this headline.

  35. 135

I actually left your horrible site about 6 months ago thinking I'd never return.. but when I typed in Amy Winehouse in my google and this post came up in my news I was shocked and horrified that you would say this.
You are giving young people the wrong message with this story. You're telling them that doing drugs wont kill them. Drugs Killed Amy.. everyone knows it and the people who do drugs need to wake up and realize this is what happens when you do them. Don't go around spouting about things you know nothing about Perez.. cuz you never know who is taking your stupid comments to heart. DRUGS KILLED AMY!!!

  36. 136

RIP Amy! The pictures above is how I would like to remember her along with her amazing voice.

  37. 137

That's probably the most idiotic remark I've heard in a long time. You may have pics of yourself with Amy, but you wern't friends. She considered you a jerk after you posted the bloody pics, then refused to remove them when she asked you too. That's not a friend. That's the reality of being a blogger and not caring about even friends. But, I do believe you cared for her in general. It's all business…right?

  38. 138

I think both Perez and most of the commenters on here are making a lot of assumptions, until there is a post-mortem we don't know what the exact cause of death is. Admittedly her drug/alcohol abuse is likely involved somehow but its not an absolute certainty at this stage, there are causes for seizures other than drugs (Valium withdrawal causes seizures, I've seen it myself) or alcohol. As for those making snide remarks about Amy's death - you disgust me! Even discounting her talent, anyone so young dying is a tragedy, I was drinking and drugging a lot myself at that age but I'm still here to tell the tale (no I don't do it now) so there may be complicating factors with Amy and drink is far far worse than any drug for doing permanent damage to the body. I wonder why so many musicians seem to die young at that particular age (27), Kurt Cobain, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, to name just a few of them… RIP Amy

  39. 139

so everyone is just arguing semantics? who cares how he phrased something? the bottom line is that one of the brightest musical talents to emerge in the last 40 years has died. does it matter if she od'd , had a seizure or got run over by a bus ? what a bunch of petty kids ….

  40. 140

Re: Mad Dog – guess you've never lost anyone you cared about to something like this. perhaps the world will have the pleasure to hear that it has happened to you in the near future. I'm sure we'll all care just as much as you do about "another dead junkie". you soulless fool.

  41. 141

Re: YouAreCrazy – Exactly! The best thing that could come out of Amy's death is that it might inspire others to stop doing drugs and drinking, especially all those young people who seem to think they're invincible and can do anything to their body. Luckily, it looks like fatboy is the only one here who really believes drugs didn't kill her.

  42. 142

Re: SaetanaRe: Michela29Re: ms trudyRe: ms trudy – How does anyone know that Amy didnt have seizures BEFORE she was using drugs. 43. 143

didnt you just post that no one should be speculating about how she died yet?

  44. 144

Re: poorlittlerichiegirl – the point i am trying to also get across is dont know how people can judge and say things with such a cold and uncaring heart for the people that are in mourning at the moment.

  45. 145

i love these pics of her…. Rest in Peace Amy.

  46. 146

Re: lisagra – I don't know Amy nor do I know of any pre existing medical condition. I didn't say anything unkind about her as I am a huge fan. so I don't know why you're trying to call me out with your post. and BTW … I really don't care to see any part of your story. you are of no interest to me.

  47. 147

oh ffs seizures are brought on by Withdrawals, Fkn your nervou system up!! weather she stuck a needle in died, indrectly it still was drugs!! wake up!!!!!!!!!!!!! It wasnt Epilepsy

  48. 148

Re: Get Stuffed – Well Addiction is a disease you know..weather your shot dead or inflicted does it matteR?

  49. 149

Re: Looselipz – how do you know what it was I was saying that she may have had seizures before all of this also have some compassion for the family that is going through the grieving process………… people with cold hearts make me sick they should be opening their arms for the family not this.

  50. 150

If her body had shut down from past drug use, then you wouldn't say drugs not likely responsible for her death dumb ass, you would say over dose not likely responsible for her death…

  51. 151

re: Looselipz- What is your point exactly.
If at all you have a valid one.

  52. 152

Re: lisagra – I said myself there were causes for seizures other than drugs and alcohol, try reading the comments properly before jumping on people! Given YOU appear to be so judgemental about other people then I have no interest whatsoever in what you have gone through or whatever your problems are, using Amy's death to publicise your own story is disgusting! This thread is for discussion about Amy's death, don't hijack it ;o)

  53. 153

    I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17

inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to

our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay

expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46

inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me

$52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get

    all this stuff, BidsGet.com

  54. 154

Re: Saetana – I am not hijacking it read what i have said have some compassion for the family that is going through the grieving process………… people with cold hearts make me sick they should be opening their arms for the family not this. thats the last i am saying cause this is just nonsence and everyone should be uniting as one for support for the family

  55. 155

With the latest being the coroner saying she may have "suffered a violent or unnatural death" the mystery deepens. Was she whacked by her frustrated record label that was sick and tired of her BS and knew her death would boost sales? Or perhaps having a sever seizure brought on by heavy alcohol consumption after years of drug abuse could be classified as "violent or unnatural". Oh and as tragic as the loss of a young artist is, she in no way compares to Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, or even Kurt Cobain.. Ripping off old Motown records is not genius. And how much of all that was her and not producer Mark Ronson?? Did she play anything?? How much did she write?? Honesty, nothing I've heard from her comes even close to Morrison at his weakest (and he was just a poet\lyricist\singer).

  56. 156

So very, very sad and predictable. I love these photos, though. She looks beautiful.
