We can't even begin to process this.

Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her London apartment.

According to a press release from the Metropolitan Police:

"Police were called by London Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 shortly before 16.05hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman found deceased. On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death. At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained."

This is so unbelievably devastating on so many levels. She truly was such a talent.

Our sincerest condolences go out to her family, friends, and loved ones during this impossibly difficult time.

May she R.I.P.

UPDATE:

Scotland Yard has confirmed that there were no signs of foul play at Winehouse's apartment, and that an autopsy has been scheduled to take place tomorrow to determine cause of death.

UPDATE #2:

London authorities have released an official statement regarding Amy's passing.

Superintendent Raj Kohli says:

"Next of kin have been informed, and I can confirm that officers are now satisfied that the deceased is Amy Winehouse. I am aware of reports suggesting this death is the result of a suspected drugs overdose, but I would like to re-emphasize that no post-mortem examination has yet taken place and it would be inappropriate to speculate on the cause of death."

She had a great voice and her personality was just so cool. She was beautiful, smart, and funny but unfortunately she made some bad choices in her life. May she rest in peace.

    I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17

inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83 being delivered to

our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay

expensive retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46

inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it only cost me

$52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get

    all this stuff, BidsGet.com

This is tragic. But if I'm not mistaken, wasn't it this same website (perezhilton) that bashed Amy while she was going through her most difficult times? SO i guess this is a form of what's good for the goose is good for the gander then huh? I think before you guys start trashing peole and their personal lives..( i.e perez trying to out other gay celebrities) maybe you should sit back and think about what people are going through. GROW UP!

Honestly… I don't know why her death is surprising or shocking to anyone. It was inevitable, it was just a matter of when. She is 2011's version of Janis Joplin. She had the opportunity, the money and all the means to help herself and didn't. I know it seems insensitive to say- but if you don't value your life enough to get help- why should I value it? All of a sudden all these "fans" are coming out talking about how much she'll be missed and how music took a tremendous loss- ok let’s be honest, no it didn't. She put out one good selling album- stumbled her way through her performances and took for granted all the opportunities that she was blessed with. I am sure in this world there are many undiscovered voices that rival hers and i bet those people would be appreciative of the chance that she got.. and she blew. Go ahead and call me insensitive- but I feel like the only one she has to blame is herself. If you have a weak will power- don't tempt it by trying something you might not be able to walk away from.

Very sad but we knew it was coming. Next casulty: Lady Gaga!! If she does not stop her whiskey and hanging around that so called friend with his "Alcohol Diet" he promotes she will be next. Are you listen Gaga? You are smarter than that. Please learn from this tragic, tragic passing

I am really sad for Amy's death, but her music will live forever in my heart. I loved since her first album Frank. She was a sweet human being; and somehow too sensitive and romantic to the point of losing her head for junkie Blake. NOTE TO FAMILY AND CLOSE FRIENDS: My prayers to you. BUT YOU COULD HAVE DONE MORE TO HELP HER. Remember Britney Spears' Conservancy deal made in court by her father? NO MONEY MEANS NO DRUGS AND JUNKIES LIVING OFF HER…until she gets her act together. TOO LATE FOR AMY :(

It's a bit sick seeing all the positive stuff Perez is posting after years of posting all the rough, nasty stuff. This is typical hypocrisy of tabloids - rip people to shred in life and then eulogise them in death. To my shame I was guilty of making a jokey remark about Amy on this site before so I was not immune although the remark also said that she needed serious help. The woman needed serious help, like so many do. Let's hope we don't see any other untimely deaths on this site soon among the other troubled stars we hear about.

I find it very sad and pathetic that a human being has passed and all some people can say is finally, it's about time, etc…No one knows the demons or skeletons this woman had in her closet. She was someone's daughter, friend, etc…No of us will never understand how it feels to have to live your short comings and/or problems out in front of the world for everyone to judge and give their opinions. I pray that she may finally find peace.
Further more your a total jack ass if you find it funny to pick at someone who has an addiction when you cant or wont even try to help celebrity or not. These people are sick and need help not ignorant jack asses judging and making fun of them. How would you feel knowing that if you may die tomorrow the only thing people would say Is finally, thank god???? The world we live in to is very sad and pathetic.

First off, let me just say RIP to dear Amy. She truly was a talented and beautiful singer and person. I have always had a respect and affinity for her although at times she was a mess. Now she's in a better place and relieved of her terrible demons.

Second of all, Perez: you and probably many other people who have commented have been bashing Amy and putting her down for years and now you are grieving her after her death as if you really liked her. It makes me so mad that Amy was pushed to doing drugs and pressured so much and the fact that everyone was bringing her down made things ten times worse. Only if she was alive to see everyone giving her love, and to see the cover of People magazine honoring her instead of being cruel to her. If it wasn't for the haters and the drugs she would probably still be here. Shame on all of you who have ever teased, laughed at, or been cruel to her and are now leaving your thoughtful condolences.

    Love you forever Amy
