Carey Mulligan Talks Playing Miss Daisy In New Gatsby Film

| Filed under: Film FlickersCarey Mulligan

While promoting her upcoming flick Drive at Comic Con, Carey Mulligan took time to talk about that other movie she's doing.

You know, that little thing called The Great Gatsby?

The future Daisy Buchanan dished:

"I've had so much time and I've been able to read so much Fitzgerald. I went to Princeton where they keep all his papers and I got to look at Zelda Fitzgerald's medical records and got to look at the most amazing stuff, the first manuscript of The Great Gatsby."

Wow. She's really taking this part seriously. Maybe a little too seriously?

considering every movie version of gatsby that has ever been made has been absolutely atrocious I'm glad she's taking this seriously. maybe this one will actually be critically acclaimed and liked by people who have read the book unlike the other ones!

I hope this movie does the book justice. Can't wait to see the cinematography, costumes, etc. I love classics like this! I'm enjoying Carey's career so far, she's a talented actress

If you ever read The Great Gatsby you would understand her enthusiasm, it is an excellent piece of literature and I think she wants to do Daisy justice. I am so excited for this movie and I am so excited to see her portrayal.

she's doing the first 21st century screena adaptation of The Great Gatsby….there is no such thing as taking it too seriously. She is going to be judged incredibly harshly for this role, so she knows the kind of pressure on her.

I think she is a wonderful actress, but horribly miscast as Daisy
