The Friendly Fires Cover GaGa!

| Filed under: Music MinuteLady GaGa

What an absolutely RAD version of this song!

Earlier in the week, The Friendly Fires stopped by BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, and performed quite the cover of The Edge of Glory, originally by Lady GaGa, and we think they pretty much KILLED it!

Ch-ch-check it out (above)!

It certainly has a completely different feel from the original, but we think that the lyrics are just as powerful, and work well with how they interpreted the track!

Well done, boys!

We imagine Mother Monster approves! Big time!

When I read that the 'lyrics are powerful', I really listened to them. To me it sounds like the story of a one night stand. But I've heard Gaga say this was inspired by her grandfather? I don't get it.

I can hear a resemblance with a very old song. But well, is a Gaga song afterall… how not make you remember to another song right?. I think they pulled it good, it sounded slightly lazy tho.

i zoned out when you described caca`s lyrics as "powerful". usually people think they`re crap. as the song itself sucks anyway, no need to listen. caca`s "music" ranges between annoying and wasted time - even when performed by better singers than her…

Re: rosebud99 – It's about her grandfatrher on the deathbed, and how her grandmother couldn't leave his side, but he couldn't die with her there. He waited until he was alone to die.

Think of heaven and God metaphors and it works.

The only lyric I have trouble resolving is "I need a man who thinks it's right when it's so wrong."

Amazing! Also Perez get the bands name correct. There's no "the". It's just Friendly Fires.
