Can't win 'em all, George. Just ask the good people of Alderaan… (too soon???)
A long time ago in
a galaxy far, far away Britain, Star Wars creator George Lucas filed a lawsuit against UK prop designer Andrew Ainsworth in an effort to stop him from making and selling replicas of stormtrooper helmets.
After a court battle which lasted so long that one might call it a "saga," the court finally found in favor of the prop designer…for the most part.
Ainsworth will continue to be allowed to design and sell stormtrooper helmets in Britain, although he'll no longer be able to sell them in the United States.
Here's what Ainsworth had to say about his victory in court:
"I am proud to report that in the English legal system David can prevail against Goliath if his cause is right. If there is a Force, then it has been with me these past five years."
We're glad to hear that
David Andrew will continue to be able to do his stormtrooper thing. George should just let this one go and focus on something else…like that Boba Fett movie perhaps!
Who do U side with? Team Prop Designer or Team Lucas?
