Well, when it comes to the news that they're living apart, we guess it's not that easy to hide.
Now Nick has finally responded to the rumors, and his answer confirms our worst fears for the pair. He said:

JJ Abrams, fresh off a vacay and his release of Super 8, has reportedly returned home and is going to helm Star Trek 2! He's going over scripting now with his three trusted writers!
But, unfortunately, good news always comes with some bad news: they're not going to hit their next summer deadline. So, they've given that to G.I. Joe 2, and have told us to expect Trek sometime fourth quarter 2012 or summer 2013.
But as long as the original team (and the original cast, we're told) are behind it — we will wait patiently for it to become as awesome as possible!
