Behold, the power of Twitter!
Yesterday, DJ Kaskade decided to hold an impromptu party outside Mann's Chinese Theatre, where a movie about the Electric Daisy Carnival was premiering.
Here's the invite he tweeted out:
"Today@6pm in Hollywood @Mann's Chinese Theatre. ME+BIG SPEAKERS+MUSIC=BLOCK PARTY!!! RT!"
After HUNDREDS of people showed up, despite the fact that the movie premiere was SUPPOSED to be by invitation only, the police were forced to shut down a section of Hollywood Blvd, and then trouble ensued when people refused to leave.
The trouble turned into a riot when people started fighting, throwing bottles, and damaging police cars. They even SET FIRE to a cop car!!! Wowsa!
Here's what Kaskade tweeted in an effort to stop the riot:
"EVERYONE CHILL NOW!!! The block party has officially been shut down! BUT THIS IS TOO CRAZY AND WE NEED TO BE SAFE!"
"I AM REALLY CONCERNED FOR EVERYONES SAFETY AT THIS POINT! PLEASE RELAX."
"EVERYONE NEEDS TO GO HOME NOW! I DON'T WANT THIS TO REFLECT BADLY ON EDM OR WHAT WE ARE ABOUT. BE RESPECTFUL AND CHILL OUT!!!"
Evidently Kaskade's requests didn't work, because the police needed to bring out riot gear to get the crowd settled down. They even fired "riot beanbags" at the crowd!
So crazy! We're just glad that it seems like nobody got hurt.
What do U think about this? Do U know anyone who was involved with this
