Was Amy Winehouse Seeking Dr. Drew's Help?

| Filed under: DrugsAmy WinehouseJanice DickinsonSad SadDr. Drew

Dr Drew Amy Winehouse

This is inneresting.

According to Dr. Drew himself, Amy Winehouse was trying to contact him weeks prior to her passing. According to the celeb doc, Janice Dickinson gave Amy his number to talk about some help with her recovery from addiction.

Did he miss her call? Did she ever make the call?

A statement from his rep says:

Janice Dickinson told Dr. Drew on his HLN show last night that she had given Dr. Drew's number to someone in Amy's camp. That was the first we heard of this. No contact was ever made between Amy and Dr. Drew, although he did get a missed call from an international number that he did not recognize. We can't be sure who made the call and no message was left. Janice is really the source for the story.

Hmm, very interesting.

Regardless of this, she was doing so much better anyways, and it's just really sad this still happened.

    So very tacky.

  2. 2

Dr. Drew seems like a leech. No ethics.

  3. 3

    Dr.Death is more like it.

  4. 4

I have doubts at best, and my worst thought it these jackals are just making this up to have the light shine their way.

  5. 5

    Has he no shame?

  6. 6

That´s why Jews have the reputation they have.

  7. 7

Of course she did…EVERYONE contacts Dr. Dickhead. NOT..

  8. 8

So sad….she missed the opportunity to be exploited on celebrity rehab!

  9. 9

Just trying to contact Witch-Doctor Drew Fraudski puts you on his pile of DEAD 12-Step religious cult failures…..

  10. 10

He hasn't EVER cured one person of anything….

  11. 11

Janice Dickinson relapses every other day…..

I was wondering when this guy was going to pop up and try to make some nebulous mileage out of Amy Winehouse.

  13. 13

I thought Janice Dickinson passed shortly after treatment…or was that another one of his patients?

  14. 14

Meh- who cares? What does it matter at this point? Dr. Drew is a quack anyway, proven that he can't help a lot of people - look at all the cases of failure - Jeff Conaway, Steven Adler, Jason Davis…. obviously he's not doing something right!

  15. 15

Dr. Drew is performing some serious quackery with the 12 step sobriety cure complete with buzzwords but little supporting evidence. Janice Dickinson is just a straight up creep. No one should be looking to this man for advice. And please this isn't even worth writing about yuck.

  16. 16

What ever happened to patient/doctor confidentiality? it's time for Dr. Drew to do a little self examination … and maybe own up to his own addiction TO FAME.

  17. 17

Who cares, she's dead now. Too late.

I think that man would say anything for attention, and I think you'd post anything about Winehouse because you're a desperate idiot who is struggling to hang onto your grossly overblown and self-serving self image. What makes me laugh is that when your time comes, Perez, very damn few people will even blink.

I was wondering how long it was going to take for him to insert himself into this situation. He's probably setting it up for a hour long special on MTV. He's disgusting.

  20. 20

Ughh I can't stand Dr. Drew.

  21. 21

Wow , I cant believe what a self serving Asshole this guy has become. He's not out there trying to help people, he's exploiting them for fame.

She needed more than a TV personalities help. In my opinion she was a waste of space anyway! - sorry to be controversial

"Regardless of this, she was doing so much better anyways, and it's just really sad this still happened". I doubt Amy W. was doing "better". Not long ago, she gave a terrible performance because she was drunk/high/out of it. It is very sad that she had to die so young, but I doubt such was due to "withdrawal".
