Kanye West Jay Z Indie Retailers

Jay-Z and Kayne West have signed exclusive deal with iTunes and Best Buy for the release of their highly anticipated Watch the Throne collaboration.

Owners of the 1,700 indie retailers signed a letter that reads:

We know that you are busy, and that you put most of your energies into creating great music, but we are writing to you in the hope that you will hear us and take the time to rectify this matter. As representatives of the independent record store music community, we are asking you to allow record stores and music fans equal access to your new album.

Some of the letter's signees are so pissed, they've said they will pull current and previous releases by the two artists from their shelves.

Oooh snap! These bitches are serious!

It will make both sides - Kanye and Jay, and the retailers themselves - more money. Why not? Nobody's losing out on anything in all reality.

Not losing out ! This will hurt small independent businesses. What a bad decision. It is too much control for a few large corporations.

hi. neither one of us can sing, but we talk on stage, and sample other creative people's music, and most people are so dumb, they don't care that we have very little talent. buy our music.

Re: stickrat – You know i normally don't listen to the absolutely moronic people on this thread b/c they hate for nor eason, but really, you're dissing Jay? Sure Kanye has had his bad moments, but he seems to be redeeming himself of late, and his most recent album is perfection, Jay has been doing perfection for going on 20 years bud. This is rap has nothing to do with singing voices your insult makes no sense, there's talent in rap, just don't listen to the radio, and please ffs, shut the fuck up.

    Exclusive deals limit sales. Period.

everything these two do is so contrived. What's the message, where's the heart? Is the concept "look at me, I'm rich and I like girls and I have a private jet and I know how to write words that rhyme? At least with their predecessors there was a message and an anti-establishment vision, but these guys are the establishment, and they haven't replaced the old concepts with a new one.
