| Filed under: Baby BlabberMusic MinuteLauryn HillPerezTV

That was quick!

Check out the video (above) of Lauryn Hill performing Doo-Wop (That Thing) live at the L.A. Rising music festival on Saturday, which was exactly one week after she gave birth to a baby boy!

Great job getting back to work so fast, Lauryn!

Very impressive!

Seems to me the racist bitch saw she was getting some publicity and decided to milk it.

Performing one week after having a baby is dangerous. You need rest after having a baby, bonding time etc. You can have a secondary haemorrhage after having a baby and pushing your body to prance around on stage is just plain stupidity. Celebrities think they're invincible. This is not something to be admired.

I use to like her as an artist but her attitude and action made me sick of her.

Perez: You are seriously counting down the days your book is release. Nobody really cares. Is it a The Boy Princess rip off.

Re: alaura – I totally agree.

How can you praise this? It's disgusting. People should be praised for HEALTHY choices.

Um no. I was there and it was not a good performance. She rushed through it, couldn't hit her notes, didn't really address the crowd but when she did she didn't really make sense. It was annoying.

yeah, very impressive you promote a racist - way to go fathead.

Re: Shaarrn – During the summer of 1996, a caller to shock jock Howard Stern’s radio show said on the air that he’d heard Lauryn tell MTV that she’d rather see her child starve than have a white kid buy her album. MTV would announce later that the allegation wasn’t true, but by that time it was too late. The ugly, false rumor had already been set in motion.

“From this one broadcast, all of a sudden people who appreciated my music thought that there was something wrong with who I was and what I represented,” says Lauryn. Instead of letting a publicist act on her behalf, Lauryn, furious and very hurt, called a radio station herself to deny the charge. “I said, ‘How can I possibly be a racist? My music is universal music. And I believe in God. If I believe in God, then I have to love all of God’s creations. There can be no segregation.‘”

Lauryn insists she wants people to understand that her goal to improve the self-love of young African-American women should never be confused with advocating racial supremacy. “There are a lot of young black girls who I meet in my travels who don’t have a lot of self-esteem,” she explains. “So if I communicate to them that they’re beautiful, no white person should find fault in that. It doesn’t mean that young white girls aren’t beautiful, because they are just as beautiful.”

a woman's body needs AT LEAST 3 weeks to recover from childbirth. This is common knowledge to most that possess a functioning brain. You [perez] really need to hire new writers that aren't complete inbiciles. These people you find god only knows where really & truly underline the many downfalls of the american education system. Perhaps if you were to hire writers with something, anything beyond an 8th grade education, theyd have the common sense not to congratualate a woman who is abandoning her child and putting her own body at risk. this is not something to commend, support, or promote . was it not your website that posted just a little while back that stars were staying unhealthily slim during pregnancy? this matter is just as serious, whether she's a racist or not (Y)

"great job getting back to work so fast, lauryn! great job!"

people will never cease to amaze me in how absolutely mislead and oblivious they are in regards to the way the REAL world fuctions. How did these people find employment as online "journalists?"
