Mila Comes To Justin's Defense In Moscow

| Filed under: Justin TimberlakeFilm FlickersMila Kunis

Honey, we appreciate your loyalty, but we want the question answered!!!

During a press conference in Moscow for Friends With Benefits, a reported asked Justin Timberlake simply, "Why movies?" Obviously, the reporter wanted to know why JT has forsaken his glorious music career to make movies, but Justin never got the chance to answer the question. (To be fair, he was waiting for it to be translated.)

Mila Kunis, costar/mouth-piece/bodyguard, came to his defense quickly, smacking down the poor reporter like the hand of God!

And it's all in Russian! Alright!

Watch the video (above) to watch it all go down!

P.S. - The basic translation of what Mila said back to the woman was, “Why movies? Why not?” and then she continued to go at her when the reporter tried to infer that Hollywood is a mindless industry. Mila girl, you let her KNOW!

    Justin's facial expressions are awesome.

  4. 4

Poor Justin! Haha he's like so lost… I would be too.

  5. 5

Why movies? Because you can only collaborate so much in your "music" career before people start to notice that you are not all that.

Re: blaakq – Yes, Justin's reaction is the best part. But Mila is charming.

    She's awesome.

beautiful, bilingual and talented - this is one woman I'd like to be………

He's already answered that question time and time again…yet people still ask it! He has already said he would rather wait until he's inspired to make another album rather than just make one because it has been a few years since his last one. Which I appreciate. All the artists today churn out one album every year and most of the time they only have 1 or 2 good songs max.

hahaha…well, maybe she´´s fluent in Russian and was funny there…but I´ve gotta say she sounded (mmm… how can i put it delicately) kinda "inadequate ", slightly moronic or insulting in Russian…You cannot use the form "ti" as she did to the girl who asked the question ..ok, Mila is almost a "foreigner" and probably uses her old child language…that´s forgivable …but still…sounds not good…she must be more careful with the "foreign" languages….

  11. 11

Why the hell is she answering HIS questions?!

  12. 12

    Selfish C.U.N.T

Re: Merab – Her russian sounds better than your comment reads there guy, spellcheck that shizz before throwing it out there, also, I imagine her russian is better than your english

  14. 14

Re: Merab – at least she's trying to speak in Russian to Russian people in Russia. Most US stars wouldn't even bother. Anyway, i'm sure if you came to the UK and spoke English i'd be able to pick out grammatical and pronunciation errors in practically everything you said. Give the girl a break!

    Re: NorthernLights
hehe…no problem …I do not pretend spelling "perfectly" … chill down…
the problem actually was not her Russian …it´s good "technically" …the way she spoke and choice of the words- that was the problem…

Re: Merab – Still not bad considering she is Ukrainian, not Russian.

  17. 17

I'm gay but she just got crazy hot! haha.

Re: rosebud99 – she is from Soviet Union.it means the only soviet girl

Maybe my bar is low, but I think it is pretty awesome she addressed the question, especially in attempting to cut the reporter off at the pass by doing it in Russian. The question is old and boring, and JT is one of the very few who have successfully moved into an acting career from music. His real answer should be "Cause I can, and it's fun" because it sure seems like he is living a charmed life.

And anyone being the Grammar police to non English speaking users in the comment section, lay off … the American's making grammar and spelling mistakes out number the non American by 10 - 1, myself included.

    Re: Merab

Merab… you did very well typing in English, and I understand listening to her speak Russian was just too tempting not to comment on her mistakes. Sounds like she got her point across though… LOL.

  20. 20

The ironic part is that JT's music is pretty mindless too.

  21. 21

    Re: NorthernLights – I agree :-)

  22. 22

That reporter seemed rude and she addressed it for Justin because maybe she felt the tone or they way the question was asked was innappropriate.

  23. 23

Re: dia17 – The Soviet Union no longer exists - it was comprised of many states. The Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union. People there always spoke Ukrainian - I'm sure Russian was frequently spoken as well, but there is a separate language and culture.

  24. 24

Re: Merab – well she is Ukranian so she may not know remember all of her Russian. My bf is Ukrainian but he's lived here since he was 10. Because he only needs to speak Ukrainian (with his family), he's forgotten some of the Russian he learned when he was young. Maybe its the same situation.

  25. 25

yeah Mila is charming, but JT still sucks as an actor and his voice is annoying

  26. ONIT says – reply to this

Re: dia17 – True but since she's Mila is from one of the former Soviet countries, she is fluent in Russian. Everybody had to learn Russian in those countries.

  27. 27

She is absolutely gorgeous! And arguing in Russian really becomes her!

  28. dia17 says – reply to this

Re: rosebud99Re: ONIT – so what's the difference. For centuries, the territory‘Ukraine’ was practically synonymous with Russia, and vice versa. Russian and Ukrainian Blood Brothers. they shared the same mentality, history

  29. 29

Re: dia17 – Ask a Ukrainian, or someone from any of the other former Soviet states, and they will tell you what there is a big difference! If there was no difference, they wouldn't have left the Union.

  30. 30

Mila grew up in Russian ghetto of West Hollywood, most of the other kids in that area came around the same time, when the Soviet Union collapsed. She went to Fairfax High and still hangs out with the Russian kids she grew up with, she is very down to earth. She probably speaks more Russian than English to this day.

  31. 31

I definitely didn't know she spoke Russian.
But I loved Justin sitting there whispering "What did she just say?" hahaha

  32. 32

obviously they have a really good relationship and I think she used "ti" because she wanted to be a little insulting…haha, common she's from Ukraine and even though I'm Russian I still have many friends from Ukraine and we understand each other perfectly.

  33. 33

  34. 34

I love hearing people speak Russian I can listen to Mila all day and Mila comes from my BF's country of Ukraine so she is super cool in my book.

  35. 35

Re: Merab – Where does she say ti to the reporter? at 0:48 mark she clearly asks "a pochemu vy zdes`" i think you misheard

  36. 36

JUst LOVE the girl and JT face is priceless… i think the reporter (and a lot of them) r very annoying with the same stoopid questions. He do moives because he can and im assuming he is having fun with them>

  37. 37

why movies why ask that dum qs surely the answer is $$ more fun than dancing around on stage in tight pants to make ur voice higher is to act or rather not act but ok

    mila seems adorable

  38. Merab says – reply to this

    Re: exoticxxdream
ahaha..my bad. You are actually right. She didn´t say that… hehe
I just thought it´s because of the intonation and her questioning back - it could be taken as a little bit insulting…so, I misheard there..
but ok…I think the reporter can´t "complain" now ..

  39. 39

Haha! Go Mila! Educated women are always the best, and being bi-lingual is a big bonus! Also, JT looks SOOO CUTE!

  40. 40

    nash chelavek

  41. 41

I don't see anything remotely funny in her answer, why is everbody laughing?

  42. 42

Re: Merab – yeah i know what you mean.. her intonation and especially the "huh" was kind of obnoxious for me 0:38. i dont think it passes as very appropriate in ru)))

  43. 43

i really hope the reporter was being rude cuz otherwise she would be a DIVA (sorry for my bad english y'all lol im not from the US )
