GLEE creator Ryan Murphy is turning the play, The Normal Heart, into a feature film!
The groundbreaking play was one of the first to address AIDS and American healthcare issues.
After a strange, new illness breaks out — one that only seems to target a specific group of people — a group of friends band together to fight the truth from being buried by the doctors and the press.
Yes! We love it!
Murphy confirmed the rumors in a recent interview:
The Normal Heart is the thing that I'm going to do next. I optioned it and there's a brilliant script that Larry Kramer wrote and I'm going to do that with Mark Ruffalo and maybe Julie Roberts. I believe in that play.
We really cannot wait for this to be made. We believe in it too!
