Warner Bros REALLY Wants A Best Picture Nomination For Deathly Hallows: Part II!

warner bros wants deathly hallows part 2 best picture nom

Harry Potter for Best Picture! Harry Potter for Best Picture!!!

Whether or not you think Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II was the best movie of the year, it's been breaking all types of records and making all types of money, and it would be hard to deny the fact that it's been a HUGE success.

That being said, we totally support Warner Bros in their efforts to land a Best Picture Oscar nomination for the final Potter film.

The studio plans to "absolutely, hands-down, across-the-board" launch a campaign for that Best Picture nom, and we wish them the best of luck with it!

Given the fact that the final Lord of the Rings film landed the Best Picture award back in 2003, we're thinking WB might be able to pull off the same type of thing.

Does Deathly Hallows: Part II deserve a Best Picture nomination? Do U think it will get one???

It'll get a nomination, but it's not arty farty enough for the Academy to let it win.

  2. 2

Yes it deserves it, but I have my doubts that it'll get it.

    Harry Potter fucking SUCKS!

  4. 4

these movies have been so important to so many people, they deserve an oscar. and out of all the hp movies, this one definately deserves one the most

  5. 5

    Doubt it.

To be fair though all of the Lord of the Rings films got nominated for Best Picture and numerous other Academy Awards, whereas none of the Hp's have ever been nominted. The Return of the King was even nominated for 10 other Oscars and it won all 11 of them! I do think that out of all the HP movies this one definitely does deserve at least a nomination if not a win for Best Picture! I loved all the other films but Deathly Hallows 2 was seriously amazing!

Re: Ghandicarrots – Harry Potter has in fact been nominated for numerous Academy Awards…

It's a shame the Academy almost always overlooks fantasy films, Alan Rickman deserves a nod for his performance.

Definitely deserves a nom, I'll be so mad if it doesn't get one. I'm never a big fan of Oscar winning movies (although King's Speech was fantabulous) so it'd be nice to see a movie like this get recognized…a huge blockbuster hit AND well done. Definitely deserves it. Alan Rickman does too…he was brilliant.

The movie deserves it. I don't know if it'll get a nomination, with all the Oscar snobs around. But it deserves to win. (Though LOTR is MUCH better). What movie this year tops it…?

Re: Ghandicarrots – Well the fourth one has been nominated!!! For Best Art Direction.
I also think it deserves a nomination. But the Academy can be so blind…

I've been saying this since I saw it! I'd love for it to be nominated. And I agree about w/ what people are saying about Alan Rickman. He was AMAZING.

I hope it does.because I grew up reading and watching the movies.and they're better than the Twiilight books and movies.and my boyfriend,Daniel Radcliffe is a legend.and I once watched an interview with him, jokingly saying that his female friends obsess over Robert Pattinson, who once starred in the 3rd and 4th HP movies with him.and I really hope he wins at the Teen Choice Awards tomorrow night, because if the Twilight movies win again,I'm going to commit suicide.

yeah, that's never gonna happen. maybe at the golden globes… =)
