Adam Lambert is leaving the nest.

The American Idol alum is leaving the reality show's 19 Entertainment management company and going on to Direct Management Group, who also manages Katy Perry.

Adam isn't the first to leave 19 - winners Kelly Clarkson and Fantasia have also moved on to other management companies.

Ties will not be completely broken though as 19 will still pocket the royalties from his five RCA Records releases, including a live and remix alum, as well as merchandise.

He will remain a 19 Records artist though. A rep says:

"Adam remains signed to 19 Recordings as he brings a new management team into his career. We look forward to continued success together."

The label did make him famous after all!

But it's time to move on. We do wish you luck on your future endeavors, Adam.

19E management strangles whoever they have under contract. They are vultures. Good for him. He came off a successful worldwide tour. Looks like things are going his way

Re: NotSoGay – Right!! That is why he is on his second album! He is still signed with 19…he just has a new management co.!

Maybe he lost money on his tour because of the management. You people that talk shit without knowing anything blow me away. Good for him for moving up to something bigger and better. He deserves it; he's kicks ass.

Re: Pacific Ocean Gal – No. It looks like 19 Management is probably coming to a close. Kelly, Fantasia, Carrie, JHud, Daughtry, Jordin, Adam have all left and the only notable Idols left are David Cook, Kris Allen and Lee. All the contestants are still signed to 19 Recordings tho even Kelly. But the Management part is what a bunch of them have left and it's probably closing and yeah Adam went to a better one now.
But most people don't know anything about stuff like this and it isn't gossip so I don't get why it's a post anyway.

Hah Adam made bank on his tour, nearly every venue was sold out and he didn't have a single cancellation unlike a lot of artists these days. More than 110 tour dates in less than six months was a grueling schedule but totally worth it, since last year he tied with Daughtry, both of them earning the most of any other Idol alum except Carrie Underwood who topped the Forbes list. This is a smart business move by Adam, while 19 has been great with him and he's very complimentary toward them, they have new Idols cycling in every year and the newest will be the priority now. Excellent timing right before his second album launch which will hopefully be happening soon.
