Actress From The Wire Changes Plea In Drug Case To GUILTY

| Filed under: TV NewsDrugsLegal Matters

wire actress pleads guilty

Seems like this is all working out pretty well!

To recap, back in March, The Wire actress Felicia "Snoop" Pearson was arrested in a drug raid that resulted in more than sixty people being brought in.

As we said before, she had previously been convicted of second-degree murder in a slaying committed when she was 14, for which she served five years of an eight-year sentence and was released in 2000….and she was ALSO arrested on a minor drug charge in 2008.

She pleaded NOT GUILTY to her most recent drug-related arrest back in May, but NOW she's changed her mind and decided to plead guilty to a "conspiracy charge to distribute heroin."

According to Snoop's attorney, she changed her plea so she wouldn't "have to deal with the charges," and as a result she's been sentenced to "three years of supervised probation."

Could be SO much worse! We'll keep our fingers crossed that Snoop will take this as an opportunity to turn her life around. She's clearly very talented, and we'd hate to see that go to waste because of drugs. Yuck.

Good luck, Snoop!

I have one word. Starts with an N, has a GG in the middle, and ends with ER.

    FAILURE TO THE MAX!

  2. 2

I thought it was Jaden Smith.

You can take the rat out of the 'hood, but you can't take the 'hood out of the rat.

I'd like to point out, just because somebody pleads guilty, it doesn't necessarily mean that they ARE guilty. Sadly, with our system, you can't always be sure whether a person is telling the truth or not… ESPECIALLY, when it comes to conspiracy charges…
With her priors, & ESPECIALLY since she's in Baltimore, she'd be found guilty, even if their wasn't sufficient evidence. From what I've read, she wasn't distributing, but funding a person, who was apparently distributing.. That's how the conspiracy comes into play… Although, we will never know if she knew what the money was for, or not…
I'D ALSO LIKE TO POINT OUT, that the comments the rest of you have made, are
COMPLETELY ignorant & uncalled for. RACISM has no place in our lives, today. So grow up, or shut up.

Also, I'd like to point out. I was arrested in Baltimore, including that same charge with four others.. Even though I was completely innocent. Luckily for me, my charges were dropped. Sadly, since the city has a bad drug, & in particularly high heroin epidemic, the city government & law enforcement, have come to believe that ANYBODY & EVERYBODY is a dealer, therefore have no rights. If you're from out of state & white, you're an addict. If you're black, you're a dealer or addict. They searched my car, without my consent, & found cinnomin/sugar mix, which I had borrowed from a friend. They thought it was heroin. It took 3 months for the charges to be dropped, & another 3 months to get my property back from evidence control… I still haven't got the money back, which they funneled into the damn city's account…

My point is, you can't judge somebody in a situation, you have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE ABOUT. We do not know if she was involved, unknowingly or not… She has been doing a lot of good, working with at-risk teens & such. I'd give her the benefit of the doubt…
btw..the minor drug arrest in 08… was weed. psff. Considering the fact that in most states, they don't even arrest you for it, anymore… the laws don't make sense. Hopefully, people will… oh nevermind. I don't need to catch more shit for this.

Re: psftxerica – What the hell are you smoking??? Really…please! Who pleads guilty to something they didn't do….how old are you?

  7. 7

Re: psftxerica – Quit while you're ahead…please! Do us that favor!

  8. 8

Wait a second. This bitch kills someone at age 14 and gets only 5 years? I'm sorry. If you're old enough to do the crime you are old enough to serve the time. And then she gets arrested again for drug dealing?! How did she ever become an actress??? There are very talented people waiting for their change at stardom. How did the person get it? PS: Never heard of or the show.

    Re: :) RaiderChick
I'm not smoking anything. Ha, but that's the exact reaction I expected. I won't quit, I will speak my mind. Ignorance ISN'T bliss. haha. My age doesn't matter. I'm well informed on the issue, after researching it, & dealing with it, with personal experience! So how old are you, huh? People need to grow up. Or open their views, a little.

I wasn't saying she was innocent, nor guilty. I was merely stating the fact that judging the situation without knowledge of the case, is just stupid. (as well, as being a racist douche)

& why plead guilty when you're innocent? OH LET'S SEE.
GET 20 YEARS FOR GOING TO TRIAL, AFTER PLEADING NOT GUILTY, & BEING CONVICTED BASED ON HER PRIORS ALONE. (Let's face the facts, you should. What jury wouldn't convict with a murder conviction & another minor drug offense (which was later dropped..) )
    OR.
Get 3 years probation for pleading guilty…
    Hmmm…

It's a sad truth but it is, in fact, the case for many people.

I've experienced this kinda stuff FIRST HAND. & in Baltimore, especially, it happens ALL THE TIME. So, how about you do yourself the favor, & stop being so ignorant, or closed-minded. That's the problem with our country. & judging by the other comments… it's still a very big problem.

    Do the damn research, sweetheart.

Re: PenelopePittstop – You should watch it! It's a great series :)

"Ghetto" is a frame of mind deeply implanted into the subconscious.

  12. 12

Re: psftxerica – I'll say it again: You can take the rat out of the 'hood, but you can't take the 'hood out of the rat. Thanks for proving my point. P.S. All 'hoods have rats and they come every color…apparently even YOURS. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Baltimore + prior murder conviction + prior drug conviction + current drug arrest round-up = LIFE LONG GUILTY CRIMINAL! Grow-up, quit playing the race card and stop blaming everyone else for you and your girl's bad behavior - Cry Baby!

  13. 13

    Looks like a dude.

  14. 14

    Re: highboo – HAH!
I don't even live in the city. I live in the country, haha. But hey, whatever. I'd rather be a "hoodrat" then a ignorant person.. I'm not playing the race card, I'm white. But, I certainly hate when anybody generalize others because of their race. I was merely making a point. If you don't like it, get over it.
I NEVER blamed anybody for my so called "bad behavior," which if you read, I don't have a bad behavior issue. NOR WAS I DEFENDING HERS. I was CLARIFYING that we shouldn't judge, if we don't know the circumstances. I was making the point, with my story, that innocent non-drug using people get swept up in the mess too. Because, I was innocent.
So, if you're gonna bash on me, then at least get your facts straight, & know what you're talking about. My post was never to be rude towards ANYBODY, unlike yours, except to make my point across. Just like you made yours. I disagreed with how some of the comments were stated. So, call me names, thats fine. But, in reality, you're just proving my point.
FOR THE LAST TIME, I wasn't saying she was INNOCENT or GUILTY.
I just didn't like that people were assuming.
& I wasn't proving your point at all, clearly you mis-interpreted me, somehow…
    Get your facts straight.

By the way, there was no prior drug conviction, the charge was dropped.

  15. 15

Re: psftxerica – MURDER CONVICTION and MULTIPLE DRUG ARRESTS!!! We don't need to judge - SHE PLEAD GUILTY TO THIS CHARGE!!! Baltimore is a city known for drugs and prostitution. There are plenty of law-abiding residents there who have NEVER been arrested or stopped by the cops in that city. If people there have problems with the cops it's usually because they did something illegal…A cop just pulled you over for no reason and arrested you for heroin? Go take your hillbilly brain back to the country where it belongs and leave the BIG decisions to us city folk.

  16. 16

haha, believe what you'd like. I like to give people the benefit. I wasn't saying she was innocent or guilty. That wasn't my point. As well, people are searched randomly all the time down there. I work down there. So, yeah I do know. My story doesn't matter, it was merely an example. So, take it as that. I wasn't pulled over randomly, I was talking to a client of mine.

But think whatever you'd like. haha. You can think I'm some hillbilly, but atleast I know I"m a good person, & that doesn't judge others. Fact is, if any logical person knew that they'd lose the case, they'd plead out. As well, at least have the facts straight, by the way.

  17. 17

Don't worry about it, psftxerica. I get what your saying completely. I live down in the city, not like inner city, but in a nice peaceful neighborhood, here. But, I too have been randomly searched. A lot of people have.

I also understand what you're trying to say about the pleading out. I don't know anybody personally, but my friend, who's a cop, says it does happen.
Don't worry about what people say here. Some of them, just got nothing better to do!
