    You really think "Banksy would be proud" that police are copying his work to try & attract new recruits? You need to seriously take a closer at his imagery. Funny thing though - if Bansky was caught creating these ad campaigns he would probably be arrested. Weird world.

    I wouldn't call this Graffiti…. When I think graffiti i think of those ignorant fucks who tag freeways with their gang symbols and street names, and I also think that Banksy is unreleated to this post. I have always been against people defacing public property with their stupid tagging even banksy.. like really what makes him so special that he can draw his propaganda wherever he feels? and then we, the tax payers have to pay for it to get cleaned up!

    Re: hover me charlie – he should be locked up for it! If he wants to draw his opinion via art.. go fucking buy a billboard! Maybe I'm the weirdo.. but I don't think anyone despite the message has the right to deface public property. Hell I am sure there are PLENTY of businesses that would be thrilled to have banksy draw on their walls.. so why not do that :)

    Re: MsJules – In my opinion Billboards, bus signs, commercials, etc. are far more offensive & push opinion than anything Banksy does - but you know they are paid for so it's all good. Also, guess it's OK that police possibly broke laws by grafitting themselves? As for your opinion about businesses loving if Bansky would draw on their walls…well actually a lot of business & neighborhoods don't want street artists in their neighborhoods because it's targeting the it for regeneration driving rent prices up & not because of "vandalism." I rather look at some "art" an opinion that would make me think & question, than advertising trying to sell me plastic surgery, purfume, or boner pills every 5 minutes.

    Re: hover me charlie – I highly doubt what the police did would be considered "Graffiti" because that would be breaking laws. I bet they went to the owner of those buildings and rented the wall space or got permission to place their recruitment ads on them.

    Re: blaakq – Exactly why I said "possibly broke laws." Obviously, the story doesn't mention whether space was paid for, given freely etc. - so let's both assume we don't know for sure K? Either way, it does set precedent that ANY group could possibly have permission from a business, private resident etc. to post their own "recruiting" messages.

    These pictures were originally done after the earthquakes in Christchurch depicting actual members of the NZ police force saving peoples lives.. They are mostly on buildings waiting to be torn down - So the police aren't actually going around NZ defacing property.. I think its also a nice way to show the "Hero's" that saved so many lives.

    Re: Kiwi_nz – I noticed one in Wellington the other day, so I think they must be considering using it as a nationwide campaign too. I think it sums up NZ police quite nicely "blow on the pie" lol
