What Do Gays And Ice Cream Have In Common?!

| Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GayPolitikLGBT

Not just both being delicious, according to politician Allen West!

The Florida representative recently gave an interview, during which he was asked if the gay civil rights issue was similar to the movement for African Americans, to which he actually responded:

“You cannot compare me and my race to a behavior. I can’t change my color. People can change their sexual behavior. And I’ve seen people do that. Everyone has the same basic rights. I like chocolate chip ice cream and I will continue to like chocolate chip ice cream. So there’s no worry about me changing to vanilla. I’m not a a judge. I’m not the justice of the peace. So if they’re married, they’re married, OK? Nothing I can do about it.”

Okay, we're sorry, but WHAT?

First you claim that people can change their sexual behavior but then you assert that you won't be changing to 'vanilla.'

Sounds to us like the ice cream analogy, just like your RIDICULOUS argument that being gay is essentially a choice, is pretty uninformed!

You are right about one thing, though - there is NOTHING you can do about it!

He;s riht perez! You can NEVER compared black civil rights to gay right, they have nothing incommon besides discrimination. You can fake being gay, but you cant fake being black smh…….perez wake up

  2. 2

That made no sense. Instead of comparing sexuality to ice cream, try comparing being gay to being left handed. A lefty can try, with a lot of effort, to be right handed, but it is never natural, and they almost always revert back to the left. Schools used to try to train kids to be right handed - it didn't work very well, and in the same way, I don't thing you can train the gay away. Lefties don't choose to be lefties, and gays don't choose to be gays - it is just the way the brain is wired.

while I disagree with his argument that a person can choose whether or not to be gay, i do agree with him on the point that you cannot compare the gay civil rights movement to the experience of the African American throughout history and if you think they are similar or that homosexuals have experienced anything similar to african americans throughout american history, then you are an idiot. enough said

  4. 4

The photo you have circulating here on your site, perez, of that whore COCO and her ass, is so fucking offensive and disgusting. Guess I won't be on your site till it's removed, you asshole.

  5. 5

This is a very complex issue and the problem appears to stem from people of all sexual orientations purporting to know the underlying causes for human sexuality/sexual orientation. People should be careful in claiming they know things that just cannot be explained as of now. That goes for people who think homosexuality is genetic. Though it probably has some contribution/merit, the facts remain that nobody knows the ratio of genetic and environmental factors for our expressed sexuality.

  6. 6

Oh poor wittle Pedoez. Um um sniff sniff he didnt say it exactly they way I would so he is homophobic Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

  7. 7

his comments were perfect. No way can you compare gays to civil rights. How lame. There you go again tyring to do something for your cause, but end up making it look stupid. I love it when some gay men, "once they come out of the closet", they automatically start talkng like women and walking like women. But only when they annouce they are gay. If its not made up, then why were they not alwasys sounding like that and walking like that……makes you wonder……makes you wonder …….?????

Re: Blunt – That's nonsense. There's been tons of black people who've "passed" as white. Get educated. A mind's a terrible thing to waste.

  9. 9

I really don't think his statement came off the way he intended it to- it's kind of confusing, but I get what he was saying. You cannot compare sexual oreintation to the color of someones skin. There is no escaping your skin color even if you wanted to. I am not saying it is right or fair to hide your sexuality- but at least it is possible. In the work place for example- sexual preference is something that is easy to hide (IMO all sexual preferences should be kept personal, its your personal life- who the hell needs to know who you are sleepign with) versus you cannot hide your ethnicity. And hes saying that for those who believe sexual preference is a choice (again I am not saying i believe this, or I don't; I'm just saying) it doesn't compare to race because you do not choose to be black, white, asian Etc. Thats what he is saying- try to at least pretend to decipher the words Perez- whether you agree or disagree. Too complex for your pea brain?

  10. 10

I understand the frustration African Americans might have. It is two civil rights movements, they are different. However you can't use an arguement that is false to separate them. Separate the two movements on their own merrit. Being gay is immutable and unchangeable, it's not a behavior it's an orientation that people don't chose but can live happy lives with. I know it's different than skin color but that doesn't mean being gay is changeable.

  11. 11

The analogy doesn't even make sense.
    Re: rosebud99 – Now that's a good comparison.

  12. 12

I understand what he's saying. You can't possibly think that you can draw a legitimate comparison between what blacks have gone through during slavery and the struggle for rights and gay people. That's as insulting as it is ridiculous. Though there are light-skinned black people who MAY be able to "pass" for white, the fact is that they're black, and that's not going to change who and what they are. I think he's in error about homosexuals being able to "choose" orientation; he may be thinking of bisexuals who have chosen to favor one gender over another instead of being active with both. In the end what I think he said is that if gay marriage is legal and he's confronted with a gay couple who has married, then he accepts that. He's not willing to comment on whether or not he APPROVES of it. And you're very wrong, Perez. If he chose to be against gay marriage, there IS something that he can do about it. The funny thing is that there is nothing YOU can do stop him or change his mind, nor do you have the right to. And THAT is what EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL is REALLY about, you idiot.

  13. 13

Gays fail to realize they are a small powerless minority. They are a genetic fuck up. Why on earth are politicians even asked about gay rights..It's a waste of time even answering..Who cares what his fucking stance on gays are..Gays make up like what 4% of the nation? Right. No one cares.

  14. 14

Even though his statement was confusing, anyone can get the gist of what he is trying to say. I think Perez just likes to take things like this as an opportunity to accuse people of being "intolerant" and "homophobic" instead of just using his brain (if he even has one) to think about it for a second and understand the point he was trying to make. There is no way you can ever compare what the gays go through to what the blacks went through. Blacks suffered WAY more than the gays have suffered or ever will suffer and you don't see them prancing around in every city having a black pride parade and screaming their rights and complaints in everyones faces 24/7. You don't see black people (who again, were denied WAY more rights and opportunities than the gays) running around trying to "educate" everyone on their lifestyle and shoving an unwanted agenda down everyones throats.

  15. 15

I would of personally asked him if his "sexual behavior" has ever been attracted to guys? Behaviors are something we can control, can he control his dick from getting hard from seeing a naked stripper? all these politicians just love to yap their mouths but when it comes to gay issues they never have a REAL statement with NO flaw, always try to bring religion in it or just say it's a disease, and have nothing to back it up. This country is shit

  16. 16

Gays do not want equality. They want special treatment and attention. No one cares if someone is straight or gay. You don't hear people going "hey im straight" and you don't hear people going "are you straight or gay" They pull the "minority card" worse than the others. We have seen it happen with every damn minority there is. The second gay marriage is allowed in all states you will start seeing lawsuits and the defense "I got arrested because im gay" "I didn't get a promotion because im gay"……It'll happen ROFL.

  17. 17

Re: justtospeaktruth – Being gay isn't a disease silly..It's a genetic fuck up. Like retardation or being born without a limb.

  18. 18

Wait - can you please point me to the statistical proof that says being gay is not a choice? You pick who you put your dick into…hence why he picked his words carefully and said "sexual behavior is a choice" - it absolutely is unless you are raped.

  19. 19

Re: NookiesWA – you are a disgusting human being.

but it's not your fault, seeing as you were born with a birth defect as well, small minded and not enough IQ to do anything about it.
    your poor parents.

  20. 20

Mario, do not pay attention to your Messiah's worthless, empty words but look instead to what he does behind the scenes.
O"Bummer hates gays more than Allen West's out of context and misreported "story". Continue to attack anyone who does not APPROVE of thye gays' behavior, but at least start including your sorry ass President.
"Aug 8th - Citing the Defense of Marriage Act, the Obama Administration denied immigration benefits to a married gay couple from San Francisco and ordered the expulsion of a man who is the primary caregiver to his AIDS-afflicted spouse in the Castro District of San Francisco." — SF Chronicle

  21. 21

Re: miafrea – It's funny you insult my intelligence even when im 110% correct. Scientifically speaking, being gay is a disorder. It's a genetic screw up. Nature screwed up. We are humans. We only have one purpose in life. To reproduce. A person that was born attracted to the same sex has no use. This is science FACT. Something your "small minded" ass cannot grasp. Like it or not. Im 110% correct.

  22. 22

it's similar to a point that they are both treated less than the straight white male of society. why don't we go ahead and include women's rights too. it's just UNFAIR TREATMENT, its called a minority hello! plus this black guys comments sounds like a tranny banger

  23. 23

Re: NookiesWA – so what do you suggest happens then? if it's a "disorder" or "genetic defect" shouldn't they get special treatment and benefits as others that are mentally retarded or missing limbs etc?

  24. 24

Re: NookiesWA – and what do you mean no one cares if they're straight or gay???? if that was the case this whole argument wouldn't even be! take your head out of your butt for a sec, i know you feel like you've figured it all out and think you KNOW that all gays are just genetically fucked up but in reality you don't. And even if there are lawsuits that happen, if they aren't substantial theyll be thrown out and if they are then so it is, that's what the justice system is supposed to do. You're looking for excuses in all honesty, but that's just my opinion.

  25. 25

I know that gays have their struggles too, but please don't tell me that you think that it can be compared with what black people went through? That is just appalling if you think that.

  26. 26

oh we can compare race to behavior. look at all the blackies who are drug dealers, gang members and other various forms of societal degenerates.

  27. 27

Re: zamilowanie – I am with you on this! They can't marry that is the major thing they are screaming for… that is the equality they want… And they want to compare it to the civil rights movement. Ok- so lets allow them to marry, but then force them to be slaves, whipped and beaten. Lets also remove their right to vote and tell them they are inferiror and can't eat at the same establishments as every one else..and that they have to live in dormitory style barracks and be at their masters beckon call.. and then we will see if they still can compare the two issues. Next they are going to compare their struggle to the jews and the holocaust.

  28. 28

Re: NookiesWA – As a member of the scientific community, I am curious to know what journal you are reading that would suggest genetics as the sole factor in sexuality. Theories are thrown around left and right, but there has never been consistent data to support a biology or environment as a single contributor. Like most things, there is likely a combination of the two. Unscrambling what causes what has never been accomplished. Can I have a journal article please to support your statement?

  29. 29

your sexuality is not your culture. meditate on that for awhile. he's not saying gay is a choice. he is saying sex is a choice. there is a difference. he's no denounceing gays either. he's simply saying that comparing the gay rights movement to the civil rights movement is apples and oranges. yes both gays and minorities have experienced discrimination but at different levels and different circumstances. gays were never denied the right to vote because their gay. gays havent been 'noncitizens' to the country that gave birth to them. i agree with this man. apples and oranges. oh and by the way im as gay as they get and even I can see the ridiculousness of the comparison. its not the same. so not the same.

  30. 30

why would anyone one be surprised by his homophobic statements. just another in a long line of hateful, ignorant, republicans.
According to West, “The term ‘gay marriage’ is an oxymoron. Because marriage is a union and a bond between a man and a woman to do one single thing: the furtherance of society by procreation, through creating new life.
well that's a pretty small minded view of marriage. i guess if you marry and don't want children or you are unable to procreate or if you are adoptive parents as lots of gay couples are then you don't live up to his "standards" on marriage. how nice.
West spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference on February 20, 2010 and was endorsed by former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. West has been described as a "tea party star" and makes frequent appearances on Fox News. He became a member of the congressional Tea Party Caucus in February, 2011.
West's initial choice for his office's chief of staff was Joyce Kaufman, a south Florida WFTL radio host with a history of making controversial remarks; in 2007, she said that illegal immigrants who commit crimes should be hanged, while at a 2010 rally she said, "And if ballots don't work, bullets will." West blamed racism and misogyny by the political left for Kaufman's treatment in the media and subsequent resignation.

Re: MsJules – as per your comment #27 this has got to be the most offensive post your have every done. (and that's really saying something)
to keep referring to gay people as "they" this or "they" that is so rude gay people are no different than any other law abiding tax paying american citizens and should be treated as such. and then to say "o.k. - let's "allow them to marry, but then force them to slave" ALLOW! thanks so much my dear for letting one segment of the population chose what rights another segment of the populations should or should have. and why would you want anyone just wants equality to have to go thru the atrocities that african americans had to suffer. mind boggling.
just as a reminder many members of the lgbt community while not having been enslaved, have endured being beaten, abused, and killed all because their sexuality is different than yours. you do remember matthew shepard right? this is not a thing of the past and is still happening today, and i'm sure comments like yours and comments from politicians like allen west only encourage the perpetrators to think that the gay people they battered somehow deserved what they got.

  32. 32

Did you know BO hosted an iffytickytacky dinner for mooslums last night at the White House and although he made a point to include same sex couples at the White House for the Easter egg hunt, they specifically did not invite any to this dinner because homosexuality is a death sentence in pisslam and you can't offend the mooslums, cause the penalty for that is, well, death of course. Such a hypocrite. He dares Chrisians to be offended by many of his stances, but never dares to insult the death cult of pisslam.

  33. 33

    Re: MsJules
"Next they are going to compare their struggle to the jews and the holocaust"
upon the rise of Adolf Hitler, gay men and, to a lesser extent, lesbians, were two of the numerous groups targeted by the Nazi Party and were ultimately among Holocaust victims. Beginning in 1933, gay organizations were banned, scholarly books about homosexuality, and sexuality in general, were burned, and homosexuals within the Nazi Party itself were murdered.
Between 1933–45, an estimated 100,000 men were arrested as homosexuals.
and just to let you know even though you probably won't give a shit (since you obviously think of homosexuals as second class citizens) the last "known" gay holocaust victim recently died on August 4th. his name was Rudolf Brazda and he was 98 yrs. old.

  34. 34

Re: MsJules – and one more thing and then i'm done with this bullshit for the day. there have been different types of civil rights movements. black civil rights, women's civil rights, and now the gay civil rights. all are important and should be learned from to ensure that EVERYONE in america has the same rights and opportunities. not just heterosexual caucasian men.

Wow. Wishfully thinking it just doesn't make it so. Five minutes of research would make him feel silly, and if it didn't, could he lie straight faced? Ignorance is no defense.

  36. 36

Is it because I'm drunk or do people not make any fucking sense anymore?

  37. @v@ says – reply to this

Re: MK Ultra-Fierce Illuminati Puppet – I'm sober and they still don't. Cheers.

  38. 38

You can't compare the two. I'm for gay rights but won't be for much longer if gays keeping comparing sexual orientation to RACE. And you wonder why gay people are losing support. Really now?

  39. 39

I can't stand this piece of sh!t self hating Uncle Tom.
He is an idiot and unqualified for that position.

  40. 40

Re: Robdawg – I'm not American, I'm English, but I'm black and starting a law degree in September… Your stereotyping is disgusting and incorrect- while at school, all the people I knew who had dealers had white dealers.

  41. 41

Sure you can't compare civil rights for racial minorities, but you can NOT say that sexual preferences are a choice! That is so ignorant. I'm really shocked that he would say something so ridiculous.

  42. 42

Thank you for confiming that you're a total ignorant, Perez! You know nothing about semantics. He's ABSOLUTELY RIGHT about everything he just said!!! you can NOT compare the civil rights movement with the gay agenda. You CANNOT do that. Why? because a gay person can easily hide his homosexuality. An african american can't hide his skin color. A gay person that really WANTS to change can do so. An african american will never be able to change his skin color (unless you have a skin problem, like Michael Jackson). You have no right whatsoever to judge other people and say that ex-gays haven't really changed their sexual orientation. What he's saying with that analogy of the ice cream is that, as he says "Everyone has the same basic rights, if they’re married, they’re married". If they're attracted to someone, then they're attracted to that person and he can do nothing about it. That's ALL! and if you treat him like he was a homophobe then he has ALL the right in the world to treat you as if you were a racist

  43. 43

Allen West looks very intelligent but he is a TOTAL IDIOT by claming that one can change easily his/her sexual orientation. How stupid.

  44. 44

Jestes totalny kretyn zeby tak myslec. Pewnie jestes zwolennikiem tej ciotki skrytki, pierdolonego Jareczka Kaczynskiego. Good luck.

  45. 45

Black people fought for the same rights as all other American citizens paying taxes and gay people are fighting for the same rights as all other American citizens paying taxes. It's very clear but a bunch of homophobic as….les writing their "intelligent" comments have another opinion.

  46. 46

Hey Mr. Truth*Hurts, a black person can hide his skin color, of course. Look what Michael Jackson did. He wanted to look like his 2 idols: Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross. He was whitening his skin and putting a wig on. At the end of his life he didn't look black at all. He was so cute at the beginning of his career. At the end he looked like a monster. Some gay people cannot hide their sexual orientation because they were born very feminine (guys) or very masculine (truck driver lesbians). Allen West should have known better before voicing his stupid opinions.

  47. 47

gays are bullied blacks were hanged and beaten to death. that is my argument. i'm all for gay rights but it is NOTHING like the civil rights movement other than discrimination.

  48. 48

gays don't have to enter through the back door or drink from separate water fountains or go to different schools than straight students. they don't have to give up their seats for straight people nor do they have to watch every single move they make around straight women and men. so no it is nothing like the civil rights movement.
