The Barefoot Bandit, Colton Harris-Moore, has sold the rights to his crazy crime-spree story, making a cool 1.3 million dollars in the process!
Though, he doesn't get to keep that money. In fact, all of it is going towards paying off the 1.4 million dollar debt he owes as restitution to his victims!
Only $100k left to pay back! Ha!
Harris-Moore will write the script with Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk).
I’m wondering if the two will do a Catch Me If You Can take on the material or go in a different direction. It certainly lends itself to that angle as Harris-Moore had a two-year crime spree that ended in February 2007 when he crashed an airplane he taught himself to fly. Harris-Moore’s entertainment Lance Rosen says, “It’s very unusual for this kind of money to be paid for anyone’s life story rights.”
We'd be extremely innerested in seeing this movie! They're dead on in getting the same Catch Me If You Can vibe that we're getting!
We wonder who they'll get to play him. Maybe Josh Hutcherson??
Who would U like to see??
