Such a cray cray story!
To give you some background, the Doughtery Gang are a group of criminal siblings from Florida, consisting of 29-year-old Lee Grace Dougherty, 21-year-old Ryan Edward Dougherty, and 26-year-old half brother Dylan Dougherty Stanley.
Even before their crime spree, they had exisiting criminal records for marijuana possession, driving with a suspended license, hit and run, AND domestic violence. Yikes!
Their crime spree began when the group "allegedly shot a police officer who tried to pull them over." Later in the day, the also "allegedly" robbed a bank in Georgia.
Police finally caught up to them yesterday morning during a 100 mph car chase in Colorado after they were on the run since Aug 2! WOW!
The gang crashed their car, which "hit a guardrail and then flipped over" before they were taken into custody.
They did not go gentle into that good night, though! Lee Dougherty tried to escape, but she was shot in the leg and was apprehended along with her brothers.
Sounds like they were prepared to fight to the bitter end though, because according to the siblings' mother Barbara Bell, she received a text from them while they were on the run, which read:
"There's a time for all of us to die."
Once again…Wow. We can only imagine how many studios are probably ALREADY trying to acquire the rights to turn this into a movie.
