A truly sad story.
Yesterday, we were dismayed to learn that six years after Natalee Holloway's disappearance in Aruba, 35-year-old Maryland woman Robyn Gardner was reported missing from the same resort town.
The man she was on the island with, Gary Giordano, is currently under investigation and his story seems suspect.
Now, Robyn's boyfriend Richard Forester has opened up about her disappearance.
Then, he tried to contact her on Facebook, but the only correspondence he got from her was a Facebook wall post saying "This sucks."
More from Richard about it:
"I emailed her the rest of the day trying to get in touch with her. She sent me an inbox message on Facebook around 3 p.m. Tuesday, saying, 'Don't worry. I care about you I love you we'll talk and sort things out when I got back."
After that, Robyn's boyfriend never heard from her again. When he learned that she was on the island with Gary Giordano, he said he'd never met the man but had been told that he was her "gay friend."
Richard claims that someone was using her Gmail account after she was reported missing. He says he saw her online, but he would never get a response when he tried to message her.
He was then contacted by a woman who says she used to date Robyn's "gay friend." Here's what he had to say about their interaction:
"A woman who used to date him contacted me and told me Giordano is very technologically savvy. This woman said he'd get into a person's email account, pick up their personality and would then take on that persona."
Aside from the Gmail situation, Richard also says that Robyn would never have gone snorkeling, even though Giordano claims she went missing while snorkeling. Very suspicious.
We still hope that they find her, but this man she was vacationing with sounds shady.
